William John Lalne, Jr, of Carpet Lane, operating a truck, was treated for injuries at KM Hospital and released. Ptl. James Oamp said Lalne reported that the accident was the result of a dog chasing a truck and going Bast, subsequently running Into his lane of traffic. Gordon-W right Is Selected Arnold Gordon-Wrlght, former Community Development Coordinator for the City of Kings Mountain, was recently asked to participate In critiquing a Housing Rehabilitation course which will be offered later, (In 1980) nationwide, to all persons working In Cbmmunity Development. The course, which Is designed by the National League of Municipalities and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Is being offered to a sampling of Community Development Directors on a Regional basis. In the Southeast Region there will be two directors from each state to critique the course. The critique will be used to “Iron out the bugs” In the course before It Is offered nationally. Also, The N.C. Depart ment of Natural Resources and Community Development Is starting a new “Peer-to-Peer” program In which two communities from each of Glenn Stalls Is Hospitalized Glenn B. Stalls of 617 Meadowbrook Dr., Kings Mountain Is a patient at the Kings Mountain Hospital. Mr. Stalls was admitted Oct. 16. Bridges, of Rt. 4, (grating a 1978 Chevy, and Marie Allen Boles, of Rt. 8, were Involved In an accident Friday. Miss Bridges, traveling West on Fulton Dr. told Sgt. Houston Com that she observed the 1971 Chevy, and operated by Boles, come to a atop but could not atop her car. Damages were estimated at $8,000 to the Bridges car and $600 to the Boles vehicle. Melissa Eng, 16, was a passenger In the Bridges automobile. No Injuries were reported. Jackie Alan Mason, of Belmont, operating a 1973 Jeep, told PU. Michael Sanders that the left wheel of hla Jeep ran off the road and he lost control of the car and hit a parked vehicle, owned by Bula Moore, of 810 Phillips Dr. Two parked cars were damaged on the Harris Teeter Parking Lot when a 1967 Plymouth, owned by Steve B. Leopard of Rt. 8, Bessemer City, rolled from Its parked poritlon and hit a periled 1978 OlsmobUe owned by Larry A. Ware of Rt. 3, Bessemer City. Sgt. Houston Com Investigated for KMPD. Ptl. H.B. Sale reported that cars operated by Peggy Kimberly OoUlns, of 1307 W. Gold St. Extension, and Ernestine Bell, of 104 N. Watterson St., were Involved In a collision Saturday. According to the Officer, Ms. OoUlxu was making a left turn onto S. Railroad Ave. and Ms. Bell was proceeding North on Railroad St. The OoUlns vehicle struck the BeU car In the right front as she attempted to make a turn. Damages were estimated at $600 to the Collins vehicle and $1,000 to the BeU car. Michael Harold McIn tyre. of 807 First St., told city Ptl. Harry Martin that he was driving too fast when he turned Into Blanton St. and struck the rear of a 1978 Chevy which was pariied on Blimton St. Damages to the McIntyre 1968 Chevy right front were $300 and damages to the left rear of the parked car were $800. Mark O. McSwaln, of Rt. 4, told Sgt. Houston Com that he lost control of his 1988 Ford as he entered a curve on HlUslde Dr. and left the road, came back onto the road and crossed over to the right side, left the road again, hitting a tree. There were no other cars on the road at the time at the accident, he said. No charges were preferred. Gordon-Wrlght has been asked to participate in this program as one of the consultants working through the Western Field Office In AshevlUe. The region served by this office Is from Cleveland (founty west to Tennessee. Gordon-Wrlght Is a native of Kings Mountain and Is employed by the Town of Forest City as Community Development Director.
