The town Is located nine miles west of Statesville and 16 miles east of Hickory. Because of the accuracy of the 18.1 and 6.2 mile course, many area runners will use the Old Milwaukee Mlnl-Marathon In preparation for the Charlotte Observer Marathon events January 5, 1980. “Our event will have every possible aid for the serious runner," reports Nicky Setzer, race director for the sponsoring Claremont Jaycees. “We have doubled the number of aid Wright Completes Training FORT BENNING, Ga. — Pvt. Clayton L. Wright, son of Mrs. B.K. Wright, 608 Meadowbrook Road, Kings Mountain, N.C., recently completed One Station Unit training (OSUT) at Fort Benning, Ga. OSUT is a 12-week period which combines basic combat training and advanced In dividual training. The training Included ‘weapons qualifications, squad tactics, patrolling, landmine warfare, field communications and combat operations. This qualifies the soldier as a light- weapons infantryman and as an indirect fire crewman. Soldiers were taught to per form any of the duties In a rifle or mortar squad. His father, Clayton L.
