Reader Dialogue Television Is Immoral TuoH<1iiy, November 13, MOfNTAIN HKRAI.O-PaRe 3 Duiing the early years of television, one could watch almost any program presented and know that It was basically a moral program. One that the entire family could watch together. At the worst was an occassional suggestive line or scene. However, In recent years, apparently most i/f the writers, producers, directors, and actors su’e seeing Just how much filth they can get by with. It has gotten to the point that one cannot turn the television or without being bombarded with sex. violence, perverted sex, Imv jral life styles, nudity and In general the “Anything goes and everything Is alright” concept of life. Today’s generation may call It what they will but God’s word says It Is Immoral, that It Is wrong and most Importantly that It Is a sin agalnt God. It was sin during Biblical Times and It Is sin today. Just because some people accept It does not make It right. I place the blame for television programming being accepted as It Is-falllng on everyone’s shoulders who has never or are not now making a stand against It. Now Is the time for all con cerned individuals, churches, schools, and civic organizaUons to take a stand. Let’s stop the obscenity now before our children think this Is the way life should be lived. JERRY L. RIDDLE Grover, N.C. "iSIg- WIMH-OIKIE - orrRAri^ Churches Shoiddnh Pay Tax ’To The Editors; I would like to say I am very happy to be living back In Kings Mountain for Its my home town. But I have something that Is really bothering me. Our Country was founded because people wanted the freedom to worship God. And it was also founded that the Church -and State were a separate thing. 'The United States of America Government Is trying to take that freedom from us. We pay our taxes from our pay checks , we pay one tenth of pay to the Church of our choice and what we have left Is suppose to be ours to do as we llke.If we want to pay for a T.V. Christian Program to be on the air or build a Christian School I believe that It Is our right. I do not un derstand why the Church has to pay taxes on Its property for the Church Is the people and the people have already pedd taxes. The Bible says resist the Devil and he will nee from us. CJiUdren “of God , we-better get busy and pray and resist the devil or we will not be able to preach, pray, or sing anywhere in this world. MRS.
