Six students were listed on the Eighth Orade A honor roll, In cluding Tommy Batchler, Joy McCoy, Shawn Rainey, Todd Gossett, Tracy Seism and Sandl Assault Charges Lodged After Gym Disturbance Mike Byars, of CherryvUle Highway, was charged with assault and riot charges In connection with a disturbance Monday night at a KMHS basketball scrimmage. The warrant was drawn by KMHS athletic director Dan Brooks. Police said that Byars was released on $600 bond. The Incident occurred about 8:30 p.m. during a basketball scrimmage with Bessemer City. Gold St.; larceny of a bicycle belonging to Penny Blanton of Falrvlew St.; vandalism to the vehicle of Lanny Guyton, Rt. 1; breaking, entering and larceny at the home ot 'Ihomas Lawson, 613 Harmon Court, and breaking and entering at the home of Beverly Alexander, 610 Harmon Court. Police said that ap proximately $100 was stolen from the Lawson home but nothing was reported missing from the Alexander residence where a window was broken to gain el, y. George Breece Speaks To Group Former State Representative George Breece of Fayetteville, candidate for Secretary of State, will be one of the guest speakers at "Meet the Candidates” forum q)onsored by the Cleveland County Democratic Women. The dinner meeting will be held at Jackson’s Cafeteria In Shelby tonight. Reece ran for Secretary of State In 1976 and received over 47 percent of the vote.
