Edwin Moore, Jack Seism and Stough Wright, all No. 4 Township farmers, have been nominated for committee members in Community D In the upcoming ASC Committee Election for area farmers. The ASC committee election will be conducted by mall from Nov. 28 until Nov. 3. Eligible ASC voters are receiving a secret ballot in the mall with Instructions on how to vote for candidates of their choice and return the ballot to the County ASCS office. Candidates are being elected In nine farming communities in the county. Jaycees Attend Convention Four members of the Kings Mountain Jaycees attended the North Carolina Jaycee Mid- Year Convention held Nov. 16-18 at the Radisson in Charlotte. Those attending Included Mike Neely, Allan Propst, Jim Tate and Doug Burch. The Kings Mountain Jaycees were honored with several outstanding Awards. The local chapter placed second in the Parade of Chapters competition in their statewide population division. The local chapter was also presented a Leadership Award for recruitment and retention for the month of August. Individual awards were presented to President David Dining for outstanding leadership in becoming a member of North Carolina Jaycee President Maurice Wilson’s "Marauders.” Tom Franks was also awarded in recognition of his achieving significant programming in the area of community fund raising for the Run-Walk-a-thon project. Future projects of the Kings Mountain Jaycees include Christmas Tree Sales which will begin Dec. 1st and the selling of "Accent Basketball Magazines” which will begin the latter part of November. Magazine proceeds will benefit the "Light Up My Life” chapels for the mentally retarded of North Oarollna. These chapels will provide a place of worship for the people at these institutions. The center closest to Kings Mountain will be located in Morgan ton. "Your support of these projects is greatly appreciated by the Kings Mountain Jaycees and those that these projects benefit,” said a spokesman. An thony, elected as the first woman to the first board of directors of Green Mountain Association, has enjoyed camping with her husband and ll-year-old son, Neal, for five years. MRS. W.P. ANTHONY The Anthonys are among five families from this area who are active in the private luxury resort caunping program at Lenoir and are among 400 members of the Association. Mrs. Anthony, the former Libby Camp, was elected to a three-year term on the board and received the second highest number of votes among S3 candidates for board positions.
