to be held li. Kings Mountain
Oommunlty Center gymnasium,
Frl., Dec. 7, and Sat., Dec. 8.
Final registration Md fee
acceptance will be Mon., Dec. 8,
at 7 p.m., at a meeting of all
participants and Interested
people In the Mountaineer
Room, Kings Mountain Oom
munlty Center. This meeting Is
to complete registration and to
draw for tables to establish
participants on the gymnasium
floor plan. Each group-
individual paying the $10
registration fee will be given 2
tables, 4 ft. by 8 ft. each, placed
in a “V” for greater display
Items from the various par
ticipants will Include; baked wd
canned goods, stained glass.
pottery, crochet and knitted
items, crewel work, dried flower
arrangements, macrame and
wicker Items, pillows, scarves
and toboggans,and various
Christmas Items. A special
demonstration area will be set
up by local artist Tence Rhea for
her pottery wheel to show the
process of that art.
Entertainment Is scheduled
Intermittently throughout the
two-day Bazaar, Including a
special appearance sometime
Saturday afternoon by Santa

open and free to the public from
1 until 10 p.m., Frl., Dec. 7, and
10 a.m. until 10 p.m.. Sat., Dec.

of Route 8, Box BIT, Bessemer
City, has completed recruit
training at the Naval Training
Center, Orlando, Fla.
During the eight-week
training cycle, trainees studied
general military subjects
designed to prepare them for
ftirther academic and on-the-Job
trsdnlng In one of the Navy’s 8B
basic occupational fields.
Included In their studies were
seamanship, close order drill.
Naval history and first aid.
Personnel who complete this
course of Instruction are eligible
for three hours of college credit
In Physical Education and
Byglne.
Wood Completes
9 9 Radar Course
FORT RUCKER, Ala. - Sgt.
Boyce J. Wood, whose wife,
Bsu-bara, and parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Leroy Wood, Uve at 108
Chjyton Loop, Kings Mountain,
N.C., recently completed the Air
’IVafflc Radar Controller Course
at Fort Rucker, Ala.
During the course, through
classroom and on-slte training,
subjects studied Included the
Federal Aviation Ad
ministration’s Control ’Tower
Operator Course, aircraft
recognition. Interpretation ^of
weather reports, radio and
telephone procedures, airfield
operations, flight records and
the operation of fixed and tac
tical radar sets.
Wood entered the Army In
September 1976.
