0 Thunday. luly 31. 1980-KINGS MOUNTAIN HERALD-Pag* < KM Hospital Board Is Expanded X Ci:: MARY KRISTEN SCHMIEG Mary Kristen One Year Old Mary Kristen Schmie* celebrated her first birthday on Sun., July 27th, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Schmeig on Blalock Drive in Kings Mountain. Members of Mary Kristen’s family were present to help celebrate the occasion. The bir thday cake was centered with a doll and the cake formed a full- skirt decorated with pink and green' icing. Mary Kristen is the grand daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Schmieg of Dallas, Texas and Mr. and Mrs. James .\bemathy of Asbury, New Jersey and great-granddaughter of Mrs. Norman Abernathy and Mr. and Mrs. Philip‘Baker of Kings Mountain. The Kings Mountain Hospital Board of Trustees has increased its membership from 10 to 12. This action, which went into ef fect July 1, was taken at the' board’s recently-held annual meeting. The decision to expand the size of the board was made in an effort to provide a broader representation throughout the community served by the hospital. The two new board members are Thomas A. Tate, chief ex ecutive officer of Home Savings and Loan Association, and Mrs. Margaret Meeks, a former Kings Mountain school teacher. Tale previously served on the board until 1978. Officers re-elected for the 1980-81 fiscal year are L.E. Hin- nant president; John L. McGill, vice president; and J.C. Bridges, secretary. Bridges and N.F. McGill were re-appointed to the board for another five-year term each. Other members of the hospital board of trustees are Fain Ham- bright, Mrs. Marilyn Neisler, Mrs. Eoline Hord, Carl F. Maundy and Dr. Joe Lee.
