ABSHER BESSEMER CITY—Funeral services for Will Ervin Absher, ^ 60, of Route 2, who died Sunday ^ morning in Gaston Memorial Hospital, were conducted Tues day at 3 p.m. from Long Creek Presbyterian Church by Rev. Allen Morrison, interment following in the church cemetery. Mr. Absher was a native of Gaston County, son of the late Julius C. and Carrie Bell Absher. ^ Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Bonnie Bridges Absher; two sons, David Absher of Bessemer City and Will Absher, Jr. of Lawndale; two daughters, Mrs. Sue Lovelace of Bessemer City and Mrs. Nancy England of Kings Mountain; a brother, J.C. Absher, Jr. of Bessemer City; four sisters, Mrs. Lillie Shuford of Winston Salem, Mrs. Virgie ) Green of Bessemer City, Mrs. Edna Thompson and Mrs. Lottie ; Burton, both of Kings Moun tain, and three grandchildren, i, Sisk Funeral Home was in I charge of arrangements. WRIGHT Funeral services for Horace Columbus Wright, 71, of Route • 4, who died Monday afternoon at 5:30 after several months il lness, will be conducted Thurs day afternoon at 4 p.m. from Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church of which he was a charter member. Rev. Mitchell Pruitt, pastor of the church, will officiate, assisted by Rev. Dale Thornburg, Rev. Eugene Land and Rev. Ansel — Center. Interment will be in the • church cemeterv. Broyhill To Visit City Hall ® U.S. Congressman James T. Broyhill will visit in 28 areas of the 10th District the first week in August and has set office hours in Kings Mountain at City Hall . I on Fri., Aug. 8th, from 11 until • 11:45 a.m. Announcing his traditional of fice hours schedule today, Broyhill said, “Since being elected to Congress in 1962, 1 9 have held office hours in every county in my district on a regular basis. I enjoy the chance to sit down and t^k face-to-face with my constituents.” Persons desiring to talk with the Congressman or a member of his staff to tell their problems or express their opinions will be seen on a “first come, first serve” ^ basis. ^ Congress will be in recess dur ing the first period for district work and the Democratic Con vention in New York. Jim Bolin To Gradaute Jimmy Robert Bolin of Kings • Mountain will graduate from Limestone College Fri., Aug. 8 with a degree in business ad ministration and management science. Commencement exercises will be held at 10 a.m. in Fullerton Auditorium. Speaker will be Claude V. Marchbanks Jr., of Clemson, who is on the ^ Limestone Board of Trustees V and is employed by Milliken and Company as general manager of the Tire Cord Division at DeFore Plant in Clemson. Circle Meetings • Slated Circles of First Presbyterian Church will meet next week. Circle 1 will meet Mon., Aug. 4th, at 3 pjn. in the Ladies Bible Classroom with Mrs. H.R. Hun- nicutt as hostess. Circles 2 and 4 will hold a pic nic at the Lake Montonia home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Page at # 7:30 p.m. Circle 3 will meet Wed., Aug. 6, at 10 a.m. at the home of Mrs. Robert Southwell at 804 Williams St. DRAMA COMMITTEE Members of the Outdoor Drama Steering Committee will meet Thursday night, July 31, at 7:30 at Central United A Methodist Church Fellowship ^ .HaU. K The family has designated memorials to the Mills Baptist Children’s Home in Thomasville. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Bessie Foster Wright; two sons, Herman Wright and Leonard Wright, both of Kings Moun tain; two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Brieves and Miss Coleen Wright, both of Kings Mountain; one brother, Jonas Wright of Kings Mountain; two sisters, Mrs. Roland Waters and Mrs. Sheila Mae Waters, both of Kings Mountain, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are five half- brothers, James Wright, Paul Wright, Silas Wright, Saul Wright and Job Wright, all of Spartanburg, S.C. and a half- sister, Mrs. Sarah Henderson of Spartanburg. Harris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. JASPER N. PHILBECK Funeral services for Jasper Newton Philbeck, 68, of Route 3, who died suddenly Tuesday night at his home, will be con ducted Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m. from Oak Grove Baptist Church of which he was a member. His pastor, Rev. Michael Guudelock, will officiate at the rites, assisted by Rev. Richard Plyler, and interment will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Philbeck was a native of Cleveland County, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Quincey Philbeck. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Bemie Pryor Philbeck; three sons, Arnold Philbeck, Maynard Philbeck and Roger Philbeck, all of Kings Mountain; one daughter, Mrs. Glenn (Betty Lou) Longley of Matthews, one sister, Mrs. Effie Green of Chesnee, S.C.; one half-brother.
