Mr. and Mrs. Jeffery Anthony
Dixon, who were wed Saturday,
are on a wedding trip to the
mountains of Western North
Carolina and afterwards will be
at home on Blalock Drive in
Bethlehem Community.
Miss Judith Elaine Hullender
became Mr. Dixon's bride in a
Candlelight wedding in Kings
Mountain Baptist Church.
The Rev. James Clifford
Goare, minister of the church,
was assisted by the Rev. Zim
merman Miller Freeman in hear
ing the exchange of vows in the
double ring ceremony.
The Baptistry of the church
was banked with magnolia
leaves and the entire choir loft
and Baptismal area outlined with
cathedral tapers in seven branch
candelabra. Spiral candles and
tree candelabra enhanced either
side of the impressive setting.
Hurricane globes holding white
candles surrounded by English
ivy were used in the windows
and family pews were bowmark-
ed with satin and English ivy.
Tangerine bows and greenery
outlined the bannisters from the
church balcony to the
Fellowship Hall, setting for the
reception after the ceremony.
M rs. J.C. Bridges was
organist. Miss Suzanne

Kathryn Blanton was vocalist
for the program of traditional
music. Miss Blanton sang “Wed
ding Song” and "1 Pledge My
Love" before the ceremony. B.S.
Peeler sang “Wedding Prayer” as
the couple knelt at the altar for
the benediction.
Robert A. Hullender escorted
his daughter to the altar and
gave her in marriage. The bride’s
wedding gown was a formal
de.sign of while matte jersey. A
high collar and tulle front insert
enhanced the fitted bodice
which was sparked with lace
motifs and pearls and
highlighted by long Bishop
sleeves cuffed with lace and
pearls. The sunburst pleated
skirt was complemented by a
Chapel train trimmed with mat
ching silk V enise lace. Her waltz-
length veil of triple tiers of silk
Venise lace was attached to a
Camelot lace and pearl-covered
headpiece and she carried a
white lace-covered Bible which
her mother carried on her wed
ding day. The Bible was topped
with white silk roses and liliesof-
ihe-valley and showered with
satin streamers.
Miss Diana Ruth Hullender
attender her sister as maid of
honor and bridesmaids were
Mrs. Linda Watts Brown, Mrs.
Susan Thomas Brown, both of
Charlotte, Miss l.isa Fayle
Fowler of Charlotte, cousin of
the bride. Miss Sheila Ruth Hin
ton of Gastonia and Miss Rox
anne Tale of Kings Mountain.
All the attendants wore long
gowns of teal green polyester
Lusierglo with draped bixlices
and enhanced by cowl backs.
They wore a gold chain with
pearls and pearl earrings, gifts of
the bride, and carried arm bou
quets of tangerine silk roses, lilies
of the valley and baby’s breath.
Melissa Ann Henderson of
Florence, S.C., cousin of the
bride, was flower girl and wore a
long dress of w hite silk organza
with a ruffled edged with lace
around the neckline and long
sleeves. A wide ruffle edged with
wide white lace completed the
full skirt w hich was worn over a
hoop. Wide white lace over teal
green ribbon studded with pearls
formed a sash which lied in the
back of the waistline. She wore
fresh baby’s breath in her hair
and carried a small arm bouquet
of tangerine silk roses, lilies of
the valley and baby’s breath.
Participating in the wedding
as honorary bridesmaids were
Kimberly Lynn Fowler, l.eslic
Ann Fowler, Martha .Mickle
Henderson, all of Charlotte and
Regina Pearson Dixon of Kings
Mountain. They wore long skirts
of teal green velveteen with
white long sleeves dress blouses.
Each wore a wristlet of tangerine
silk daisies.
Best man for the bridegroom
was his father, Jacob Anthony
Dixon.
Groomsmen were Robert
Trent Hullender, brother of the
bride, Mark Edward Dixon,
brother of the bridegroom,
Gregory Keith Dixon, cousin of
the bridegroom, Paul Brent
Leigh, William David McDaniel
and Kevin Dixon Tinsley, cousin
of the bridegroom, all of Kings
Mountain.
.Margaret Karen Owens, who
registered guests, wore a long
formal of apricot Quiana and
lace and wristlet of white roses.
The bride’s mother was gown
ed in a gown of Jade green with
full crystal pleated skirt. She
chose a corsage of silk tangerine
roses and baby’s breath.

gown of white satin by Priscilla.
Fler dress was designed with a
Queen .Anne neckline and long
tapered sleeves of net accented
with lace motifs and satin bill
ions. The bodice of English net
was appliqued with motifs of
Alencon lace and extended into
a Chapel length train scalloped
with matching lace. Her walking
length veil of pure silk illusion
was bordered with Alencon lace
and attached to a Juliet cap of
