DAVID SCOTT FREDELL (Sarah Lynn Bridges) Bridges-Fredell Couple Exchange Marriage Vows Long Creek Presbyterian Church of Bessemer City was the setting Sunday for an ex change of wedding vows uniting Miss Sarah Lynn Bridges and David Scott Fredell. The Rev. Allen E. Morrison, minister of the church, heard the exchange of vows in a setting of brass candelabra and memory candles enhanced with greenery and centered by a white satin- covered prayer bench at which the couple knelt for the benedic tion. Mrs. Nell Myers was organist for the program of nuptial music and Vance Bridges was vocal soloist. James M. Bridges escorted his daughter to the altar and gave her in marriage. The bride’s wed ding gown was a formtil design of Polyester Organza featuring overlaying lace on the front of the bodice and on the full train which extended from a pleated full skirt. Her waist-length veil of illusion was draped from a head- piece of pearls and sequins and she carried a white Bible topped with silk orchids and showered with streamers of stephanotis. Mrs. Michael Wayne Fredell attended her sister as matron of honor and bridesmaids were Jayne Fredell, Nina Blanton, Judy Whisnant and Liz Patter son, all of Kings Mountain, and Freida Ramseur and Dana Pat terson, both of Bessemer City. All the attendants wore long formals of navy blue polyester satin with sheer puff sleeves. They carried single mums ar ranged with baby’s breath and satin ribbons. The bridegroom’s father was best man. Ushers were Bobby Wilson, Benny Wilson, Billy Wilson, all of Bessemer City, Kenny Bridges, Marty Bridges and Wayne Fredell, all of Kings Mountttin. The bride’s mother chose a long formal of rust and orange and a white silk orchid corsage at her shoulder. The bridegroom’s mother chose a beige and brown formal and a white orchid shoulder cor sage. After a wedding trip the newlyweds will be at home on Route 2. BRIDE AND BRIDEGROOM Mr. and Mrs. James M. Bridges of Kings Mountain are parents of the bride who is a graduate of Bessemer City High School where she was a member of COO, FHA, and Christian Fellowship Club. She has also been active in Order of Rainbow for Girls. She is employed as head cashier at Harris Teeter Stores in Kings Mountain. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman R. Fredell of Kings Mountain and is a 1980 graduate of Kings Mountain Senior High School where he was active in 1CT,V1CA and was active in the KM Junior Fire Department. He is employed at Parkdale Mills in Gastonia. The parents of the bride hosted a cakecutting and after rehearsal party on Saturday night in the Fellowship Hall of Long Creek Presbyterian Church, 'fhe blue and white theme of the wedding was featured in decorative details and refreshments. Hughes-Meek Pair Married Miss Cynthia Marie Hughes became the bride of George Ken neth Meek in a 6 p.m. ceremony Saturday in Second Baptist Church. The Rev. Eugene Land of ficiated at the double-ring ceremony. Mrs. Evelyn Bridges presented a prelude of nuptial music prior to the ceremony. During the ceremony the selec tions “Walk Hand in Hand”, and “The Wedding Song” were presented by solosits. Mike Chambers and Mrs. Evelyn Bridges. The altar was graced with golden candelabrums which held 62 candles, flanked with fresh flowers in handsome basket ar rangements, fresh palms were us ed in the background. The bride, given in marriage by her father Jerrell H. Hughes, wore a Milady created of sheer sophistication in white crepe’ de’chini’, daisies of silken venise lace which trimmed the high neck point, de’espirit yoke and long fitted sleeves. The empire waist tops a circular skirt trimm ed with matching daisy edging. The beautiful key hole back ac cents the attached train. An original E.E. Berger silk venise lace cap, decorated the two tier walking length white veil with rolled edges. The white Bible carried by the bride, was beautifully covered with yellow sweetheart roses, miniature carnations and baby’s breath. The Bible had been car ried by the groom’s mother on her wedding day. Mrs. Tony Ruppe, sister of the bride, served as Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids were, Mrs. Sue Benson, sister of the groom of McConnells, S.C. Mrs. Sandy Etters, Miss Rhonda Spearman, Miss Cathy Barnette, all of Kings Mountain, Jamie Thomp son, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Thompson of Smyrna, S.C. was the flower girl and Miss Lisa Yarbro attended the register. Each attendant wore a formal length gown of apricot printed dacron organza. The gown had a ruffled hem caught up in the back at a rosette to form a bustle back, a two tiered cape, also of printed dacron organza. Each at tendant carried a large bronze mum ^ithstreamers. •, .. George B. Meek served as his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Joe Hen son, brother-in-law of the bridegroom of McConnell, S.C. Chuck Dover, of York, S.C., Alex Farrell of Rock Hill, S.C. and Jerry Ramsey, cousin of the bride of Kings Mountain. Ringbearer was Brian Ramsey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Ramsey of Kings Mountain. The bride’s mother wore a for mal length gown of apricot magic knit, enhanced by a flow ing cape of chiffon, with a rosette on the point of the V-neck. The bridegroom’s mother wore a formal length gown of turquoise Quiana knit, with a chiffon cape, which was ac cented by white sea pearls around the neckline and waist. Both mothers wore lovely double white carnations cor sages. The bride’s parents entertain ed at a delightful reception following the ceremony at the Fellowship Hall of the Church. Guests were greeted by the parents of the bridal pair, along with members of the wedding party. Brass containers with fresh greenery and fresh flowers banked the fireplace of the Fellowship Hall. A four tiered wedding cake centered the beautifully appointed bridal table, which was covered with a green underskirt and overlayed with white lace. Two miniature decorated cakes to each side of the wedding cake symbolized the union of the two families. An artful arrangement of fall flowers in a handsome silver con tainer flanked by tall white tapers added to the beauty of the bridal table. A smaller table covered with a white cut work cloth held the ivy encircled punch bowl. The wedding cake was cut and served by Mrs. Renee Ramsey of Kings Mountain, and guests en joyed assorted party pick-ups and punch which was poured by Mrs. Gwen Thompson of Smyr na, S. C. Mr. and Mrs. Luther Clark of Chester, S.C. said good-byes to the guests. BRIDE AND BRIDEGROOM Mr. and Mrs. Jerrell H. Hughes of 507 Katherine Avenue, are parents of the bride. She is a 1978 ^aduate of Kings Mountain Senior Itigh School ^ and is employed in the offices of Thermacot-Welco of Kings Mountain. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George L. Meek of 211 Simrill Avenue, York, S.C. He is a 1976 graduate of York High School and is employed at Duke Power Company of Y ork, S.C. The couple will be at home at Route One, Smyrna, S.C after rehearsal The grooms’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. George I. Meek, honored the bridal couple and other members of the wedding party, at an After Rehearsal Dinner. MRS. BOBBY DEAN RUCKER 1 • Stone-Rucker Pair Married The marriage vows of Miss Jill Marie Stone and Bobby Dean Rucker were spoken Saturday evening, Oct. 25th, at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church. Officiating minister was the Rev. Mitchell M. Pruitt. Music for the 4 p.m. Candlelight ceremony was presented by Mrs. Evelyn Bridges organist, and Mike Chambers, vocal soloist. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Stone of Canter bury Road, is an honor graduate of Kings Mountain Senior High School. She is presently employed at Clevemont Mills and plans to soon begin wdrk as ’a cosmetologist. *** The bridegroom is employed by Martin Marietta Aggregates. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Crawford Rucker of Route 3. The bride’s father gave her in marriage. . Miss Dana Horne of Kings J Mountain was the bride’s maid of honor and only attendant. The bridegroom’s father was best man. Kelly Stone, the bride’s brother, ushered with Scott Ellis, both of Kings Moun tain. Ricky Stone, brother of the bride, carried the rings. Diane Wright, the bride's aunt, presided at the register. The couple was honored at a reception hosted by their parents after the ceremony in the church fellowship hall. Mrs. Ruth Piper served (heeakemid'Mrs. Saw^a Neal served punch. Assisting in serving was Mrs. Jean Houser.
