DAVID ALEXANDER
Alexander
Completes
Training
David Alexander, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Dwight Alexander of
1160 Westover Drive, Kings
Mountain, has completed basic
training at Ft. Dix, N.J.
Mr. and Mrs. Alexander at
tended graduation ceremonies
there on October 29. David
graduated as one of the top
soldiers in his class and was
awarded the Expert Rifle badge
for his performance as a top-
notch marksman.
Alexander, a 1980 graduate of
Kings Mountain High, joined
the Army’s Delayed Entry Pro
gram (DEP) during his senior
year. At that time he was
guaranteed Small Arms Repair,
one of the many technical skill
training programs available in
the Army. He reported for active
duty on September 3.
Mr. Alexander was impressed
with the graduation ceremony
and the “royal treatment” his
family received. “David is proud
to be a member of the U.S. Ar
my,” he said. “I was doubtful
when David enlisted but know
how that he made the right deci
sion.”
Pvt. Alexander started the
Small Arms Repair course on
November 3 at Aberdeen Prov
ing Grounds, Maryland. When
he graduates, he hopes to return
to Kings Mountain for the Ar-
ittv’s Hometown Recruiter’s Aid
Program, where he will work
closely with his recruiter to find
qualified applicants for the Ar
my.

the Delayed Entry Program and
the Army, contact SSG Jim
Rowlett at 739-8216 or stop by

assistance to the millions of

Houston School for Deaf
Children and has operated it.
Many other clubs have had suc-
