Registration may be made at the first class meeting, or by call ing 739-2296. Courses include; Beginning typing, 6-9 p.m. for 11 weeks at KMHS. Fee is $8. Senior Citizens may attend free. Kathy Scott is instructor. Powder Puff Auto Mechancis for men and women began last night at the KMHS auto shop. It'' will continue for 11 weeks. Fee is S8 for ages 18-up. Senior Citizens may register free of charge. Bernard Hamrick is in structor. Income tax preparation begins Wednesday and will continue through April 22 from 6:30 until 9:30 at Central School. Fee is $8 and is free for senior citizens. Oliver Patterson will instruct. Open gym will be held Wednesday for eight weeks from 6 until 8 p.m. at Central School. It’s open for grades six through 12. Bill Hager will coordinate ac tivities, including ping pong, volleyball and basketball. Bible study begins Tuesday and will be held from 6:30 until 9:30 through April 21 at North Junior High Drops Finale Kings Mountain Junior High’s wrestlers dropped a 35-29 decision to Sullivan Junior High of Rock Hill in their season’s finale Thursday at the Central Gym. The loss gave the Patriots a final duel meet record of S-0 in the Western Junior High Athletic Association and 8-1 against all competition. Sullivan’s victory was its 13Sth in a row, which is a South Carolina State record. “It was a heartbreaking loss for us,’’ said Coach Phil Weathers of the Patriots. “But Sullivan has a strong team, as usual, and I have to give them a lot pt^KdiU “Our guys wrestled a heck of a match, and I really think it could I have gone either way. It just happened to go their way.” The Patriots jumped out to an early lead but Sullivan won two of the last three matches to wrap up the victory. “The teams were almost even,” said Weathers. “If we could have won another decision anywhere along the way, we could have at least pulled off a tie. But our guys have done a good job this year and 1 can’t say anything bad about them.” Kings Mountain’s Mike Smith, a 135-pounder, com pleted a three-year unbeaten career at the junior high with a pin over previously unbeaten Bobby Gaston. Tim Hamrick, Dale Moore and Roger McClain also finished unbeaten seasons. Weathers loses a host of talented ninth graders, including Smith, David Parker, Randy Whitaker, Calvin Goode, Moore, McClain, Hamrick, Robert Bradshaw, Todd Gossett and Rodney Ross. “I really hate to lose them because most of them have been with me for three years,” said Weathers. “But I hope to see them all wrestling on the high school level next year. Cake decorating for beginners and advanced students will begin today and continue for 11 weeks from 6:30 until 9:30 at North School. Fee is $8 for ages 18-up and free for senior citizens. Ina L. Hager will instruct. Developing positive attitudes begins today and continues for eight weeks from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at North School. The course is free and is for grades five through 12. Mrs. Jessie Jackson will instruct. Drama workshop will begin Friday and continue for six weeks from 3:30 until 4:30 p.m. at North School. It is for grades three through five and is free. Mrs. Nan Jean Grant will be the instructor. Girl Scouts will form a new troop beginning Tuesday at North School. Two mothers are needed to volunteer as leaders. Training is available. Any per sons wishing to join or be a leader should contact Miss Talbert or Miss Goforth at Nonh School (739-2346) after 3 p.m. or call Bill Hager at 739-2296 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Macrame for beginners and advanced students will begin to day and continue for 11 weeks from 6:30 until 9:30 at North School. Fee is $8 for ages 18-up and free for senior citizens. Peggy McDowell will instruct. Girl Scout troop meetings will be held on Thursday of each week from 4:30 until 6 p.m. at East School. Any girls grades one through three intere.sted in registering should go by East School any Thursday at 4:30 or call Ms. Jean Teseniar at 739-7765 after 4 p.m. A self defense class for women only will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays for 10 weeks. Fee is $8 for ages 14-up and free for senior citizens. The class will be held at East School and will be instructed by Steve Lazenby, a second degree black belt. Parent Awareness will be held on Mondays and Tuesdays at Nonh and Bethware School. The class is free and will run for seven weeks.
