Barnes Auditorium. The pageant, sponsored by the Kings Mountain High Booster’s Club, will be held on March 28 at 7 p.m. at Barnes Auditorium. The pageant is under the direc tion of Mrs. Tina Wright. Registration fee is $5. In case of bad weather, registration will be held on Sat., March 14, from 10 a.m. until I p.m. No registra tion will be taken after Sat., Mar. 7, or Sat., Mar. 14. The Little Wee Miss pageant will include girls ages three, four, five and six. The Little Miss Kings Mountain pageant will in clude girls ages seven, eight, nine and 10. >•, VICA Club To Sponsor Car Show The Kings Mountain High VICA Club will sponsor the an nual Kings Mountain High car USA DALTON Sixth Birthday For Lisa Dalton Lisa Dalton, daughter of Michael and Vickie Dalton of Kings Mountain, celebrated her sixth birthday Feb. 25th. A par ty was given in her honor on &t., Feb. 28th. A Holly Hobble birthday cake was cut and served with other party refreshments. Seven friends attended. Lisa is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert F. Ware of Kings Mountain and Mr. and Mrs. Archie Dalton of Shelby. She is great-granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank C. Ware of Kings Mountain, Mr. and Mrs. John Williams of Kings Moun tain, Mrs. Lottie Guffey of Shelby and Mrs. Sam Dalton of Forest City. Lisa has one brother, Robbie, age two. •• !*• Pair Sets Wedding Date Mr. and Mrs. Richard R. Hor ton of Kings Mountain an nounce the engagement of their daughter, Carol Lynn, to Timothy Scott Borders, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Borders of Blacksburg, S.C. The wedding will be an event of September 5th at the home of the bride-to-be. Heart Gifts Reach $1,430 Kings Mountain area citizens contributed $ 1,430.93 on Heart Sunday recently to the 1981 Heart Fund campaign for research into the cause of heart disease. Mrs. Charles H. Adams was Heart Sunday chairman. Dr. and Mrs. Terry Sellers headed up the overall drive in Kings Mountain. Dr. Sellers reminded can vassers to turn in all contribu tions this week and Mrs. Sellers said that sponsors for a oenefit bridge are invited to call her for details. Mrs. Sellers said she needs volunteers to help sponsor the event. Local People To Conference Five local people attended the Spring Conference of the American Legion and Auxiliary during the weekend in Fayet teville. Representing the Auxiliary were Mrs. Ruth Gamble, District 23 president; Mrs. Arlene Barrett, unit treasurer, and Miss Elizabeth Stewart, past state president. Representing the American Legion were Joe H. McDaniel, a member of the state administrative committee, and Rick Moore. It’s A Boy For Sturgis Family Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Sturgis of Columbia, S.C. announce the arrival of a son. Forest Neil Sturgis, Feb. 27th. The baby is grandsoi^fltWfl Neill and Jean Weotr’NMH, formerly of Kings Mountain, and great-grandson of R. Halbert Webb of Kings Moun tain and the late Mrs. Webb. show on April 11. Registration will be held from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Entry fee is SIO. Judging will begin at 12 noon in eight classes, including street rides, vans, 4x4 land vehicles, 4 X 4 trucks, 1954-and below stock, 1955-1974 stock, 1975-1981 stock and speed four custom. Three trophies will be award ed in each classification and trophies will also be given to the most outstanding entry and to the car which came the longest distance. Admission is $ 1.50. A refresh ment stand will be operated and car products will also be sold there. All proceeds go to VICA ac tivities. In case of rain, the show will be held on April 12.
