IMI-UNGS MOUNTAIN HERALD-Pog* 3A The KMSHS High-Q Team is a diversifled team of four seniors and one junior that will compete with area high schools in the first round of High-Q this Saturday at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte. The members and their special areas are Boo Robinson in Math, Sciences, Sports and General Trivia: Barry Morrow with mythology and literature and General Trivia; Joe Smith in History, Geography and Sports. Pam Hatch’s areas are Literature and Math, and alternate Mark McSwain’s area is General Trivia. Mrs. Juanita Goforth coaches the team and will be with the team in competition. Joel Rountree also helps to quiz the team. The KMSHS Beta Club met last Thursday for the nomina tions for the officers of the club next year. Nominations for President are Bob Smith, Mark Brooks. Pam Hatch, and Henry Clark. Vice-President nominees are Laura Herndon, Bob Smith, Sandy Appling, and Greg In gram. Nominations for Secretary are Rusty Morrison, Laura Herndon, Jeff Ward, and Gerg Ingram. Lisa Roark, Sandy Ap pling, Henry Clark, Mark Brooks, Crista Williams, and Laura Herndon were nominated for Treasurer. Club members will vote for officers by secret ballot next week. Senior Cheerleaders will in struct interested juniors and sophomores during practices which began March 18 for varsi ty and junior varsity KMHS NewH By IJINICE SCOGGINS cheerleading next year. Actual try-outs will be held next week. There was a senior class meeting for class of *81 gift nominations. Seniors will vote on the gift next week. Jane Ham- bright, president of the senior class, directed the meeting. The auto-mechanics car show committee met Monday for the preparation of their second car show which will be held Satur day. Seniors interested in working and helping to prepare plans for the graduation party should see Steven Gnandt as soon as possi ble. The Kings Mountain Fire Department is sponsoring a Wheels of Life Bike-A-Thon to raise money for the study of Childhood Cancer at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Entry forms are available at KMSHS and Kings Mountain Junior High. Anyone interested in participating should contact the fire dept, or KMSHS. There was an NCAE meeting at Bethware Elementary School Wednesday. Act II of the senior class play was practiced this week.
