Pag* 2A-KINGS MOUNTAIN HERALD-Thunday. |un* IS. 1981 Susan Allen Honored By Denton Students Susan Allen, daughter-in- law of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Allen of Kings Mountain, was honored recently on “Susan Allen Day” at Denton Elemen tary School where she is prin- cipd. Members of the faculty and students took the occasion to surprise Mrs. Denton with gifts and a special ceremony. When Mrs. Allen arrived at school, she found her office door decorated with a banner pro claiming the special day. Students brought her poems, gifts, and flowers throughout the day. Billy Ann Terrell summarized tributes from teachers by noting that “Mrs. Allen is a caring per son. She is concerned about every child and every faculty member in our school. If there is one word to describe Mrs. Allen it is unselfish.” Daughter of Mrs. Ellen Wibon of Gastonia and the late James S. Wibon, Mrs. Allen b wife of Charles O. Allen, vice- president of Mid-State Plastics, in Seagrove. They have one son, Jeremy. Denton Elementary School numbers more than 700 students. No. 3, was charged with nine counts of traf fic violations Monday night and was jailed in lieu of $ 1500 bond. Kings Mountain Police Dept. Ptl. Jerry Sale, Sgt. Johnny Belk and N.C. Highway Patrolman Lancaster said the suspect was arrested after a chase with of ficers involving several miles. According to the officers, Belk was attempting to stop Brown operating a 1972 Plymouth. Brown jumped from his car. The Brown car struck the police car, crossed the road, proceeded down and embankment, hit a tree and damaged the yard of John Reynolds, 606 E. Ridge St. Damages to the piolice car were estimated at S200 and S6S0 to Brown’s vehicle. Brown was charged with resisting arrest, failure to stop for blue light siren, damage to city property, speeding to allude of ficer, no operators license, ftiilure to stop for red light, speeding 80 in 35 zone, reckless driving and damage to state property.
