Susan Allen Honored
By Denton Students
Susan Allen, daughter-in-
law of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur
Allen of Kings Mountain, was
honored recently on “Susan
Allen Day” at Denton Elemen
tary School where she is prin-
cipd.
Members of the faculty and
students took the occasion to
surprise Mrs. Denton with gifts
and a special ceremony.
When Mrs. Allen arrived at
school, she found her office door
decorated with a banner pro
claiming the special day.
Students brought her poems,
gifts, and flowers throughout the
day.
Billy Ann Terrell summarized
tributes from teachers by noting
that “Mrs. Allen is a caring per
son. She is concerned about
every child and every faculty
member in our school. If there is
one word to describe Mrs. Allen
it is unselfish.”
Daughter of Mrs. Ellen
Wibon of Gastonia and the late
James S. Wibon, Mrs. Allen b
wife of Charles O. Allen, vice-
president of Mid-State Plastics,
in Seagrove. They have one son,
Jeremy.
