For Seism-Bridges Wedding

Mr. and Mrs. John Franklin
Bridges, who were wed Satur
day, are on a wedding trip to St.
Simons Island,Georgia and after
wards will be at home in
^ ^ Durham.
Miss Elizabeth Roxanne
Seism became Mr. Bridges’ bride
in a 7 p.m. wedding in Patterson
Grove Baptist Church. The Rev.
Richard Plyler, assisted by Rev.
Ronald Kiser, ptastor of Bonlee
Baptist Church of Bonlee, N.C.,
heard the couple exchange vows
of the double-ring ceremony.
0 ^ Trip McGill was organist,
Kim Leggett was pianist, and
Richard G. Plyler was
trumpeteer for the program of
traditional music.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a formal
gown of wh'te satin and lace
which she had designed and
') ^ made. The dress featured a lace
bodice with long, full sleeves and
a cathedral train. Her veil of illu
sion also fell formal length and
was attached to a camelot head-
piece. She carried a white Bible
brought from the Holy Land by
her great-aunt. Miss Janet
Falls,which was topped with
daisies, baby’s breath and satin
streamers.

sister as maid of honor and
bridesmaids were Gina Patter
son, Jerri Patterson, Charlotte
Seism, all of Kings Mountain,
Janet Bridges Anthony of
Bassett, Va., Amy Eklson of
Elkin, Ellen Flippin of Arden
and Kathy Spake of Shelby.
All the attendants wore long

shouider. The dresses were
gathered with sashes at the waist
and accented with yellow. They
carried baskets of white daisies
and yellow roses.
The bridegroom’s father was
best man.

dress of soft aqua with a white
shoulder corsage.
The bridegroom’s mother
chose a turquoise dress with
white shoulder corsage.
The bride’s parents entertain
ed after the ceremony at a
beautifully-appointed reception
in the church fellowship hall
where the yellow rind white
theme of the wedding was
beautifully featured in
decorative details. The bride’s
table, overlaid with lace over
yellow, held the five-tiered wed
ding cake as central
highlight .The cake was topped
with wedding bells and
decorated in green, white and
yellow. At one end of the table
was a silver punch bowl. Center
ing the table was an arrangement
of yellow daisies, snapdragons
and mums with yellow candles.
Party pickups were served from
silver appointments.

kept the guest register.

tain Senior High School and is a
rising senior at Meredith College
in Raleigh.
The bridegroom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Everette Weldon
Bridges of Kings Mountain and
grandson of Mrs. Jack Bridges of
Kings Mountain. He is a
graduate of Kings Mountain
Senior High School, Gardner
Webb College at Boiling Springs
and Southeastern Baptist
Theological Seminary at Wake
Forest. He is Director of Educa
tion at Braggtown Baptist

Aubrey Mauney of Kings
Mountain. He is also the grand

blue carnations, white mums

the program of nuptial music.
Cuthbert Hart Christie
escorted his daughter to the altar
and gave her in marriage. The
bride’s wedding gown was a for-
mtil design of white silk organza
over taffeta. The gown featured
a natural waisted bodice and
Queen Ann neckline. The bodice
was fashioned with Chantilly
lace and Bishop sleeves with lace
cascading down the sleeves and
covering the cuffs. The A-line
skirt fell from the bodice into a
Chapel length train. The front of
the skirt and train were enhanc
ed with panels of pleated Chan
tilly lace. The lace also bordered
the hemline. Her matching
altar-length veil of white illusion
was draped from a bandeau
headpiece covered in Chantilly
lace and clusters of sequins. A
fingertip blusher draped from
the veil. She carried a fresh bou
quet of white sweetheart roses
and carnations.
Miss Yvonne Mazzell of
John’s lsland,S.C. attended the
bride as maid of honor. She wore
a floor-length gown of powder
blue chiffon over blue taffeta.
The gown had a slight blouson
bodice accented with lace
around the neckline with cap
sleeves and a self-tie belt at the
waist. She carried a cascade of
silk ivory tiger lilies with fresh
geeenery and baby’s breath.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Cindy
Szpak,, Miss Karen Christie and
Miss Kim Christie, all of Colum-
bia,S.C. They wore floorJength
gowns of ivory and blue printed
chiffon over ivory taffeta design
ed like that worn by the honor
attendant. They carried tiger
lilies with fresh greenery and
baby’s breath.
Andy Shealy of Inman,
S.C.was best man for the
bridegroom.
Groomsmen were Mark
Beaver and Mike Beaver of Col-
umbia,S.C. brothers of the
bridegroom, and Tim Watkins.
The bride’s mother wore a
street-length blue Quiana dress
designed with pleated blouson
bodice and long sleeves. She
wore a white shoulder bouquet.
The bridegroom’s mother
chose a yellow dress with floral
overlay and a white shoulder
corsage.
The bride’s parents entertain
ed after the cermony at a
beautifully-appointed wedding
reception in the church social
hall. The blue and white theme
of the wedding was featured in
decorative details.
For a trip to Florida, the bride
chose a white linen suit with
light blue printed blouse and the
corsage lifted from her bridal
bouquet.
The bride was valedictorian of
her high school graduating Mass
at Sea Island Academy in Joh."’s
Island, S.C. and is a 1981
graduate of the University of
South Carolina. She is employed
by Pickle’s Inc.
The bridegroom was
graduated from Irmo High
School of Columbia,S.C. and in
1979 from Midland Technical
Institute. He is employed by
Herndon Chevrolet Co. in Col-
umbia.S.C.
Columbia, South Carolina will
be home for the newlyweds.

tain School District may obtain
free passes to all activities at
Kings Mountain High School.
Interested persons may go by the
principal’s office and show proof
of age.
LIONS CLUB
New officers will be installed
at the regular meeting of the
Kings Mountain Lions Club at 7
p.m. Tuesday at Holiday Inn.
Tim Gladden, deputy district
governor, w ill be in charge of the
installation ceremonies.
