HILTON GERALD FORT (Sharri Lynn Sallan) Pre-Wedding Showers Honored Sherri Seiiers Sherri Sellers, June 27 bride of Hilton Fort, was honored at a number of showers prior to her wedding. She was honored on May 21 with a bridal shower at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dub Blalock in the Bethlehem Conununity. Entertaining together were Sherri’s bridesmaids, Tricia Blalock, Angela Clark, Tammy Ellis, Kim Porter and Judy Whisnant. F(Hly guests called between the hours and 7 pjn. and 9 pjn. and the bride was showered with miscetlaneous gifts. The bride-to-be opened her gifts in the living room and guests were invited to the dining room, where punch was served with decorated cake squares, nuts and mints. The refreshment table was overlaid with a white table cloth and the centerpece was a bou quet of yellow and white daisies. DEADLINE FOR SOCIETY NEWS 5 p.m. Monday Miss Sellers was presented a shoulder corsage of yellow daisies and baby’s breath. On Sat., May 23, 35 guests traveled to Owensboro, Ky., where Sherri was honored at a miscellaneous shower hosted by Chrissy Robey. The guests were served par- faits of vanilla ice cream and strawberries, and sugar cookies. Miss Sellers’ aunts, Mrs. Junior Sellers, Mrs. Ken Clon- inger and Mrs. Bill Sellers hosted a linen shower on June 7 at the home of Mrs. Junior Sellers in the Bethlehem Community. Twenty-five guests attended. The bride-to-be wore a shoulder corsage of yellow roses and baby’s breath. The table was decorated with a bridal tablecloth and an ar rangement of yellow and white daisies for the centerpiece. The guest swere served punch, nuts, ham bisquits, cake squares and crackers and cheese. The hostesses presented the bride a set of sheets and blanket. ■t ANN THOMA8SON Ann Arthur Thomasson To Make Society Debut . Ann Arthur Thomasson daughter of Mr. and Mrs! George Thomasson of Kings Mountain, will make her debut to North Carolina society at the annual Terpsichorean Club- sponsored Debutante Ball on September 11 in the Raleigh Qvic Center. Miss Thomasson is a rising sophomore at Meredith College in Raleigh. She is a 1980 graduate of Kings Mountain Senior High School and grand daughter of Mrs. J. H. Arthur of Kings Mountain and the late Mr. Arthur and of the late Mr. and Mrs. CF. Thonasson. Mist Thomassont father will be her chief marshal. Assistant marshal will be Luther Bennett Hill II of High Point. Sherri Seilers, Hilton Fort Wed In Candlelight Ceremony Sherri Lynn Sellers and Hilton Gerald Fort exchanged marriage vows in a candlelight ceremony on June 27 at 7 pm. at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Kings Mountain. Rev. Russell Fitts, pastor of Zion Baptist Church in Lawndale, N.C.. officiated. The bride was given in mar riage by her father. Donald Sellen Sr., of Route 2, Kings Mountain. Wedding music was presented by Frances Lail, organist; Donna Fowler, pianist; Mr. and Mrs. Scott Whitener, sdoists; and Ray King, guitarist. The sanctuary was decorated with ivey and baby’s breath and a candle in every window; brass heart candlelabra with yellow roses, daisies and baby’s breath in the center of the altar; brass spiral candlelabras on each side, a kneeling bench holding a unity candle, and palms and ferns decorating the auditorium. The bride wore a wedding gown of silk organza created by Mori Lee. Charming crystid pleats adorned the full skirt en ding in a beautiftil chapel train. Lacy bishop sleeves and a por trait neckline accented with lace and luaded pearls added to the delicate veil . The walty length veil fell from a delicate pleated ruff cap. She carried a nosegay silk bou quet of white roses, baby’s breath, lilly of the valley, and light touches of yellow flowers and greenery. Leslie Sellers, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. She wore a pale yellow gown with crystal pleats and draped bodice, and carried a bouquet of silk white daisies, lilly of the valley, and baby breath with long streamers of bridal lace and ribbons. Bridesmaids included Tricia Blalock, Angela Clark, Tammy Ellis, Kim P(»ter and Judy Whisnant, all of Kings Moun tain. Their gowns were identical to the maid of honm-’s. Karla Moore was flower girl. She wore a pale yellow gown with a bow in the back, and puff ed sleeves. Ring bearer was Bob by Peterson, who wore a gray baron coat and hickory stripe pants. Wes Page of Owensboro, Ky. was the best man. Ushers were Steve Albrecht of Lexington, Ky., Greg Fort and John Fmt of Lcmisville, Ky., Kenny Fort of Alexandria, La., and Donald Sellers Jr. of Kings Mountain. Penny Mertz attended the guest register. Karen Sellers directed the wedding. The bride’s mother wore a pale blue evening gown and the groom’s mother chose a pale pink evening gown. BRIDE AND BRIDEGROOM The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Sellers Sr. of Kings Mountain, and the granddaughter of Mrs. Alma Sellers of Kings Mountain, Mrs. A1 Talley, and Jim LaRue of Oregon, ^e is a graduate of Kings Mountain Senior High School and is employed by F oote Mineral Company. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Fort of Owensboro, Ky., and the grand son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Moss of Owensboro. He is a graduate of Owensboro High School and holds a BSME degree from the University of Ken tucky. He is employed as i^t engineer at Foote Mineral Com pany. RECEPTION The bride’s parents hosted a reception in the church chapel following the wedding. Candles, ivey and baby’s breath decorated the windows and the chapel was decorated with ferns and i^ants. Two tables were decorated with white uUe cloths with white bridal lace overlay and yellow skirts of ninon gathered around. The couple cut a tiered wed ding cake with pale yellow ac cents. A three-candle candlelabra, daisies, yellow roses and baby’s breath dKorated the table. The expected lifetpen for a mouse it about five years. REHEARSAL DINNER Members of the wedding par ty and friends and family from out of town made up the 40 guests that hosted the bride and groom at a steak dinner at Kelly’s Steak House in Blacluburg following the rehear sal.
