Ivan Stephens, the Rev. Richard Plyler and the Rev. Clyde Bearden. Burial was in Moun tain Rest Cemetery. Mrs. Jolly died Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Gaston Memorial Hospital. « A native of Kings Mountain, she was a former textile clerical worker. She was the daughter of Mrs. Ann Roberts of Kings Mountain and the late James Calvin Roberts. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Surving are her husband, Clin ton Jolly of the home; one son, James C. Jolly of Kings Moun tain; one daughter, Mrs. Jack (Cindy) Gaskey of Kings Moun tain; and one grandson. G.K. BROOME Funeral services for George Kendrick “Ken” Broome, 55, of 135 McGinnis Street, Kings Mountain, were conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Sisk F uneral Home in Bessemer City by the Rev. Eugene Land. Burial was in Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery. Broome died Sunday at Kings Mountain Hospital. He was employed by the City of Kings Mountain as an operator at the T.J. Ellison Water Plant on Moss Lake. He was a native of Gaston County and son of the late Rufus and Emily McWhorter Broome. He was a World War II veteran and served the Kings Mountain Police Department as a reserve officer. Survivors include one son. Buddy Broome of Kings Moun tain; one daughter, Mrs. Libby Chambers of Kings Mountain; one brother, Hoyle Broome of Bessemer City; one sister, Mrs. Lucy West of Kings Mountain; and four grandchildren. BIUY WILSON Funeral services for Billy Wilson, 23, of 203 Thornburg Drive, Kings Mountain, were conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Gethsemane Holiness Church by the Rev. James Mintz. Burial was in the church cemetery. Wilson died Friday at Kings Mountain Hospital after a three- month illness. He was an employee of Burl ington Industries. Surviving are his parents, John and Ruth Mae Wilson of Kings Mountain; two brothers, Johnny Wilson of Kings Moun tain and James Wilson of the home; and five sisters, Mrs. Sara Thombs of Charlotte, Mrs. Shirley Webber of Waco, Mrs. Gloria Turner of Kings Moun tain and Miss Dorothy Jean Wilson and Miss Sharon Wilson, teth of the home^ L.C. McDaniel Funeral services for Lloyd Coleman McDaniel, 56, of 310 East Cleveland Avenue, Bessemer City, were conducted Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Unity Baptist Church by the Rev. Harry Hand the Rev. Roy Clark. Buri^ was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. McDaniel died Monday at Gaston Memorial Hospital. A Gaston County native, he was the son of Mrs. Banner Crawford of Kings Mountain and the late Forrest McDaniel. He was a retired textile super visor and a veteran of Wwld War II. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Vivian Martin McDaniel; two sons, Danny McDaniel of Gastonia and Ricky McDaniel of Kings Mountain; two daughters, Mrs. Victor SandersyOf Hudson and Mrs. Don Pearson of Bessemer City; four sisters, Mrs. Charles White of Winston-Salem, Mrs. Barbara Lockridge, Mrs. Harold Hutto and Mrs. Bertha Rogers, all of Kings Mountain; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. MRS. ELU8 Mrs. Norma Lee Clinton Ellis, 29, of 445 Beach Fifth Street, Far Rockaway, N.Y., died Mon day. She was a Kings Mountain native. WJL BYERS Funeral services for Willie Augustus Byers, 71, of 1019 Silver Street, Shelby, were con ducted at 4 p.m. Friday at Fellowship Holiness Church by the Rev. William D. Arrowood and the Rev. Mrs. R.W. Wilson. He died Wednesday at his home after being in declining health for several years. He was a native of Rutherford County and was the son of the late Spain and Sarah Pritchard Byers. Survivors include his wife, Gladys Dotson Byers; four daughters, Mrs. Harold Scott, Mrs. Edward Ervin and Mrs. Clyde Keeter, all of Shelby, and Mrs. Betty Head of the home; a brother, SA. Wilson, 71, of Waco Road, Kings Mountain, were con ducted Saturday at 4 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Gary Bryant, the Rev. Stephen Hundley and the Rev. Sam Murphy. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. Mr. Wilson died Thursday at Charlotte Memorial Hospital. A native of Bristol, Tenn., he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lacy Hoover Wilson. He was retired manager of Roses Store in Kings Mountain and was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he was a ruling eider and taught the men’s Bible Class. Survivors include his wife, Mary Carpenter Wilson; two sons, James C. Wilson of Blacksburg and Robert H. Wilson of Shelbyville, Ky.; a daughter, Mrs. Ned (Scottie) Yarbro of Kings Mountain; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Rueter of Maryville, Tenn., and Mrs. John Hood of Louisville, Tenn.; and 10 grandchildren. Goforth, 91, of Route 1, Grover, were conducted Friday at 3 pm. at Shiloh Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Harold Hutchison. Burial was in Grover Cemetery. Mr. Goforth died Thursday at Kings Mountain Hospital. A Kings Mountain native, he was a retired farmer and sawmill operator. He was the oldest member of Shiloh Presbyterian Church, where he was a ruling elder, and wasa member of the State Line Masonic Lodge, Pied mont Shrine Oub and the Oasis Shrine Temple. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Preston Goforth and the husband of the late Louvenia Turner Goforth. Surviving are four sons, Franklin Goforth of Gastonia, Brevard Goforth of Bridgecrest, Calif., Dennis Goforth and Gene Goforth, both of Kings Moun tain; two daughters, Mrs. Vera Ledford of Grover and Mrs. Steve (Lucy) Mode of Lin- colnton; a brother, Clyde Goforth of Mooresboro; a sister, Mrs. Veree Sistare of Clover, S.C.; 31 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild.
