Funeral services for Elma
Sanders Camp, 68. of Walnut
Street, Grover, were conducted
Wednesday at First Baptist
Church in Grover by the Rev.
Bobby Gantt and the Rev. Perry
Montgomei^. Burial was in New
Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Camp died at 1:10 a.m.
Tuesday at Cleveland Memorial
Hospital.
A native of Cherokee County,
S.C., she was the daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
Sanders and was a retired
employee of Minette Mills.
She is survived by her hus
band, M.H. (Bill) Camp of the
home; one son, Norris Camp of
Blacksburg, S.C.; two daughters,
Mrs. Joe (Billie Ann) Boheler
and Mrs. Larry (Kay) Randle,
both of Grover; four brothers.
Max Sanders of Spartanburg,
Riley Sanders of Sharon, S.C.,
Grady Sanders of Hickory
Grove, S.C., and Roy Sanders of
Greenville, S.C.; two sisters,
Mrs. Laurie Ross of Landrum,
S.C., and Miss Polly Sanders of
Union, S.C., six grandchildren
and one great grandchild.

Rockaway, N.Y., were con
ducted Sunday at Mt. Zion Bap
tist Church in Kings Mountain
by the Rev. D.W. Whittenburg,
the Rev. Robert Garvin and the
Rev. Howard Shipp. Burial was
in Mountain Rest Cemetery.
Mrs. Ellis was a native of
Kings Mountain. She was the
daughter of Benjamin Clinton of
Kings Mountain and the late
Izora Anderson Clinton. She
was a member of Macedonia
Baptist Church in Far
Rockaway.
Other survivors include her
husband, Oscar Ellis of the
home; two daughters, Aliyah
Ellis and Nicole Ellis of the
home; one brother, Robert Clin
ton of New York; two sisters,
Eartha Lee Clinton and Minnie
Lee Clinton of Far Rockaway,
N.Y.; her brothers, Benjamin
Clinton II of Holly Hill, S.C.,
and Daryl Clinton of Kings
Mountain; three half sisters,
Delinda Fay Clinton, Patty Clin
ton, and Pamela Strong Clinton
of Kings Mountain; one step
brother, Gary Strong of Kings
Mountain; two stepsisters,
Tawanna Strong and Alefia
Wade of Kings Mountain.

Danyelle Whitaker, six-month-
old daughter of Timmy and Lisa
Whitaker of Route 1, Grover,
were conducted Saturday at
Midview Baptist Church in
Kings Mountain by the Rev.
Fred Wells. Burial was in Moun
tain Rest Cemetery.
The child died Thursday at
Charlotte Memorial Hospitsil.
Surviving, in addition to her
parents, are her grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Whitaker,
Mrs. Linda Hawkins Tignor and
Ronnie Tignor, all of Kings
Mountain.

Russell Falls has been a
member of the Kings Mountain
Rescue S<]uad for two years.
1 He is a certified Emergency
Medical Technician and is cer
tified in Cardio Pulminary
Resuscitation through the
American Heart Association.
He is assistant manager of
McDonald’s in Kings Mountain.
He is a 1976 graduate of Cran
ford (N.J.) High School and is
married to the former Kathy
Boheler of Kings Mountain. He
is active in Macedonia Baptist
Church, where he sings in the
choir and plays on the church
softball team.
Aging
Director
Resigns
The Kings Mountain Program
for the Aging has lost its second
director since January.
Mary Adams, who has held
the piosition for over five mon
ths, has resigned effective
September 11 to take a part-time
position with the Cleveland
County unit of the American
Red Cross.

leaving,” said Mrs. Adams, who
told participants in the program
during its noon meeting Tuesday
at the Depot Center. ‘The senior
citizens brought me many hours
of pleasure. You get attached to
them.”
Mrs. Adams, who will report
to work with the Red Cross on
September 14, will be working in
the finance and safety program.
She served as executive director
of the Red Cross for three years
before going to work for the Ci-
ty-
Rev. Kenneth George, who
was the Aging Director since the
inception of the program, resign
ed in January after a disagree
ment with Mayor John Moss
over two part-time employees of
the program.
Mayor Moss said the city will
begin accepting applications for
the position Wed., Sept. 9 at 10
a.m.
KIWANIS CLUB
Charlie “Choo Choo” Justice,
former UNC football great, will
be the guest speaker at the
Thurs., Sept. 3 meeting of the
Kings Mountain Kjvyanis Club
at the Woman’s Club Building.
The UNC All-American from
Asheville now resides in Cher-
ryville.
