MICHAEL WAYNE PATTON (Kelly Lee Pearson) Laura Weldon, Tim McDaniel Wed Saturday At Oak Grove Pattons Exchange Vows In Double-Ring Rites Laura Kay Weldon and 1 imothy Scott McDaniel pledg ed their wedding vows Saturday at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Kings Mountain. Rev. Mike Goudelock, pastor of Oak Grove Baptist Church, and Rev. Samuel Murphy, pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church, officiated. Marty Southards was organist for a program of wedding music. V ocalists were Lynn Echols and Mike Chambers. Mrs. Echols sang ‘The Wedding Song” and “The Wedding Prayer” and Mr. Chambers sang “If.” Lighted candles in the win dows of the sanctuary banked with ivy and four seven- branched candleabra in the background provided the setting for the double-ring ceremony. Two cut flower arrangements of white glads, yellow mums, and bronze daisies set between the candleabra on stands and two smaller silk arrangements of similar colors highlighted by apricot rosebuds further enhanc ed the setting. A kneeling bench, with a unity candle to its side, was decorated by two large bows and two long stem red roses which were given to the mothers, formed the center of the setting. The family pews were also decorated with two large bows. Mountain, cousin of the groom; and Robin Nita Weldon of Grif fin, Ga., cousin of the bride. They wore formal gowns of apricot polyester chiffon, featur ing a scoop neckline and empire waistline. The gowns were highlighted by a ruffled capelet falling down the back from the shoulders. The ruffle also edged the scooped neckline in the front. They carried two long stem silk apricot roses with a satin bow and four streamers. Dawn Jones was flower girl. She wore a gown of white dotted Swiss, patterned with apricot and yellow roses, with an apricot rib bon at the waist. A small apron edged with lace accented the gown. She carried a small fire side basket enhanced with an apricot bow at the handle and similar flower petals filled the basket. Rodger McDaniel of Kings Mountain served as his son’s best man. Ushers were Phillip Ray McDaniel of Kings Moun tain, brother of the groom; Thomas Nathan Henson of Kings Mountain, cousin of the groom; Samuel Houston Wolfe of Kings Mountain, former classmate of the bride and groom; and Randy Smith of Dallas, brother-in-law of the Kelly Lee Pearson of Kings Mountain and Michael Wayne Patton of Gaffney exchanged marriage vows in a double-ring ceremony Sun., Aug. 2 at Faith Baptist Church in Kings Moun tain. ed from her cousin, Laurin Paksoy, and she wore a pearl necklace and earrings. The necklace was a gift from her aunt, Rene Pearson. She carried a bouquet of daisies, yellow roses and baby’s breath. Rev. Floyd Seay officiated, assisted by Rev. Paul Silver. The bride was escorted to the altar and given in marriage by her father, Clifford A. Pearson of Kings Mountain. She wore a white, polyester gown with lace trim, which was made by Edna Seay. Her sheer veil was Ixirrow- Her wedding ring, which has been passed down through her family, was given to her by her mother. The groom’s wedding band belonged to the bride’s grandfather, Grady Joy. She wore a traditional gown of white organza designed with a high Victorian neckline trimmed with venise and cluny lace. The full skirt was highlighted with a redingote front opiening to a pleated organza insert and ruffle bordered with cluny lace. She wore a mantilla veil of English tulle bordered with lace scallops caught to lace calot and carried a Bible given to her as a child from her grandparents, and covered in a white lace Bible cover, topped with silk sweetheart roses, lily of the valley, tulle, star flowers, and baby’s breath with a bridal satin bow and streamers tied with baby’s breath at the ends. She wore a formal gown of apricot polyester organza lin ed in acetate taffeta. The front held a side ruffle attached at the waist, which met a flared skirt with flounced hem. The gown was complemented with a detachable capelet of matching sheere polyester. She carried three long stem silk apricot roses with a satin bow and silk streamers.
