Funeral services for William Laban Bollinger Jr., of Crouse, were conducted Sunday at Landers, Chapel United Methcxlist Church by the Rev. William Hare. Burial was in the church cemetery. Bollinger died F riday at l.in- coln County Hospital after a 12-day illness. He was a Ciaston County native and the son of the late William Laban Bollinger Sr. and Callie Murphy Bollinger. He was a builder and architect. Surviving are his wife, Kathleen, of the home; one daughter, .Mrs. Billie Ann Kerley of Lexington; one sister, Mrs. Merlyn Starr of Maiden; and two grandchildren. MARVIN JOHNSON Funeral services for Marvin Johnson, 37, of Route 4, Kings Mountain, will be conducted Thursday at 4 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church by the Rev. Willie Maddox, Rev. M.L. Campbell, Rev, Eddie Evans Jr. and Rev. Robert Dover. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Johnson died Sunday at Kings Mountain Hospital. He was employed by the Kings Mountain Housing Authority and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Board of T rustees. He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Dee Johnson; three daughters, Marva Sue, Viola Lucille and Billie Jo Johnson, all of the home; his father, J.B. Johnson of Kings Mountain; one brother, J.T. Johnson of Kings Mountain; and four sisters, Dorothy Moore, Geraldine Ihompson, Mamie Brooks and Martha Jimerson, all of Kings Mountain. Break-In, Larcenies Reported Breaking and enterings and larcenies kept Kings Mountain Police Department busy during the past week. Reports included: Larceny of batteries from Har din’s Auto Service, 615 Slater Street. Larceny of a CB radio from a car owned by Tommy Barnett, 501 East King Street, The value was listed at $75. Vandalism to a car owned by Mitchell B. Baity of Route 1, Kings Mountain, while it was parked at the Floliday Inn. A windshield was broken, resulting in $100 damage. Vandalism at FG&Y, Shelby Highway. Fifteen hanging baskets were removed from the sidewalk. Larceny of a bicycle at the John Hunt residence at 220 Thornburg Drive. Value was listed at $150. Breaking and entering at Bridges Auto Parts, 500 East King. The burglar alarm sound ed when the dixir was pried and no damage was reported. Larceny of a battery from Allen's Flower Shop, 624 East King. Value was reported at $125. Vandalism at Butler Refrigeration, 306 North Pied mont. A window was damaged $12. Larceny of a motorcycle own ed by Willie J. McNeil of Bessemer City, while it was park ed at Pine Manor. Value was reported at $1,200. Larceny of hubcaps owned by Jackie Wease of Route 2, Kings Mountain, while his car was parked at Kentucky Fried Chicken. Value was listed at $220. Breaking and entering at Kings Mountain Baptist Church. Entrance was gained through a window. Damage was reported at $50. Breaking and entering at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church. Damage was $75. l.arccny of a T-top for a Cor vette at Keith’s Auto Sales. Larceny of a cassette deck, ptywer booster and tapes, valued at $680, from Brenda Ross, 907 Boyce Street. Larceny of a licen.se plate belonging to Richard Her- skowitz of Jackboro, Tettn., while his car was parked at the Holiday Inn. The Tennessee plate number was 35-AF71. Larceny of a bicycle belonging to Linda Humphries, 509 Monroe Avenue. MRS. OSTERMAN Funeral services for Mrs. Nor man Jane Osterman of Chicago will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at Mountain View Freewill Bap tist Church in Kings Mountain by the Rev. Lawrence Spicer and Tony Mullinax. Burial will be in Mountain Rest Cemetery. Mrs. Osterman, 33, was a bank employee. She was a native of Kings Mountain and the daughter of Rev. Jess Mayberry and the late Edith Mullinax Mayberry. In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, David Osterman; her stepmother, An nie Blackwell Mayberry of Kings Mountain; two sons, David and Eric Osterman of Chicago; two daughters, Leslie and Christa Osterman of Chicago; four brothers, Michael Mayberry of Kings Mountain; Blanchard Mayberry of San Antonio, Tex.; and Marshall Mayberry and Vernon Mayberry, both of Gastonia; two sisters, Mrs. Bar bara Cole of Gastonia and Mrs. Kish (Phyllis) Hambright of Kings Mountain; three step brothers, George, Norman and L.ewis Donaldson, all of Kings Mountain; and one step sister, Mrs. Earlene Barnett of Kings Mountain. The family was to receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Wednesday night at Harris Funeral Home. MRS. BEATTY Funeral services for Merle Houser Beatty, 72, of 808 Lin- wood Road, Kings Mountain, were conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Gary Bryant. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. Mrs. Beatty died at 4:25 p.m. Thursday at Kings Mountain Hospital after several months il lness. She was a retired employee of Belk Department Store of Kings Mountain, and a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was a Kings Mountain native and the daughter of the late Dock Henry Houser and Lela Barber Houser. Her hus band was the late John Gordon Beatty. Survivors include one son, Gordon Beatty of Seneca, S.C.; one daughter, Mrs. Henry R. (Betty) Clemmer of Kings Moun tain; two brothers, Lloyd Houser of Kings Mountain and James Houser of Graham, N.C.; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Active pallbearers were Bob Maner, Hall Goforth, Harry Page, Bob Maner Jr., George Thomasson and Jerry l-edford. MRS. WILSON Funeral services for Mrs. Bet ty Laws Wilson, 48, of Route 6, Kings Mountain, were con ducted at 4 p.m. Monday at Masters Funeral Home by the Rev. Eugene Land. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. Mrs. Wilson died Saturday at Gaston Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tim Laws. Surviving are her husband, Loran Wilson; three sons, Billy Wilson of Bessemer City, Steve Wilson of Gastonia and Erick Wilson of Kings Mountain; three daughters, Lisa, Lee Ann and Andrea Wilson, all of Kings Mountain; one brother. Bob Laws of Miami; two sisters, Mrs. Ken (Carolyn) Barrett of Bessemer City and Mrs. William (Barbara) Hullender of Gastonia; and three grandchildren. F.C. WEAVER Funeral services for Forest Clegg Weaver, 70, of 205 Fulton Street, Kings Mountain, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Westover Baptist Church by the Rev. Roger Webb and Dr. Tom Patterson. Burial was in Moun tain Rest Cemetery. Wilson died Saturday at Kings Mountain Hospital. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Weaver and was a World War II veteran. He was employed by Masters Funeral Home, and was a member of Westover Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Leneva Huffstetler Weaver; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Betty) Hampton of Kings Mountain; three grand children and one great grandchild.
