Oct. 18 at the home of her aunt,
Mrs. Loy Clyde Baldwin in
Dallas. ,
Mrs. Bobby Gene Bell, Mrs.
Mike Mayes, Mrs. David Chap
man, Mrs. Sandra Stroupe and
Mrs. Clyde Baldwin hosted the
event.
Mrs. Queen received many
gifts for her new home on Route
S, Bell Road, Kings Mountain.
The wedding was an event of
Oct. 3 at Bethlehem Baptist
Church.

presided and Mrs. Frances Falls
introduced the guest speaker,
Mrs. Ava Dixon, who
presentedd a crafts program.
During the business session,
Nancy Seism and Mary Weir
were elected as new members.

of Route 2, Kings Mountain.
She is a graduate of Kings
Mountain High School and is
employed by Spectrum Fibers in
the Industrial Engineering
Department.
The groom is the son of Her

The bride and groom entered
the church together. Miss

Shelby and Bennie Smith of
Kings Mountain. Miss Regina
Kay Baldwin of Dallas, cousin of
the bride, kept the register. L.
Henry Clark Jr., brother of the
bride, lit the candles.
Special guests were the bride’s
grandmothers, Mrs. J.P.
Baldwin and Mrs. Frank Burton,
both of Bessemer City, and the
groom’s grandmother, Mrs.
Myrtle Mack of Kings Moun
tain.
Following the wedding, a
reception was given by the
bride’s parents.
Greeting guests and attending
the bride’s table were aunts of
the bride, Mrs. Bobby Bell, Mrs.
Clyde Baldwin, and Ms.
Elizabeth Spencer; and the
bride’s cousins, Mrs. Mike
Mayes and Mrs. David Chap
man.
Out-of-town guests were Mrs.
Hoyle Queen, Ms. Denise Queen
and Jeremiah Queen of Morgan-
ton.
The couple are making their
home on Route 5, Bell Road,
Kings Mountain.

George Morton Googe, both of
Jackson, Tenn., were married
Saturday at 3 p.m. in a double
ring ceremony at St. James
Episcopal Church in Bolivar,
Tenn.
The bride is the daughter of
Mrs. Ellsworth R. Thompson
and the late Mr. Thompson of
Kings Mountain. The groom is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. George
Walker Googe of Jackson, Tenn.
The bride is the grand
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dale
Cochran of Shelby.
The Rev. Thomas Roberts,
rector of St. James Episcopal
Church, officiated. Music was
provided by organist Betsy Ben
nett of Jackson and trumpeieer
Bob Rutherford of Bolivar. The
processional and recessional
music was composed by the
bride.
The bride was given in mar
riage by John R. Langlois of
Bolivar, Tenn.
Matron of Honor was Suzan
Shearin of Bolivar. The groom
chose his father, George Walker
Googe, as best man.
The bride’s sister, Mrs.
Deborah T. Petti of Charleston,
S.C., was bridesmaid. Miss Char-
maine Smith of Jackson, neice of
the groom, served as junior
bridesmaid.

Smith, brother-in-law of the
groom, Tom Murray and
Charles Richards, all of Jackson,

Bill Husley of Greenwood, Miss.

newphew of the groom, was

of Music Education from Stet
son University in Deland, Fla.,
and her Masters of Music
Degree from East Carolina
University in Greenville, N.C.
She is a Registered Music
Therapist at Western Mental
Health Institute in Bolivar.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray W. Turner of

graduate of Kings Mountain

KM Golfers
Participate
In Tourney
Six Kings Mountain women
golfers competed in the Foothills
Tournament last Tuesday at Lin
coln Country Club.
Lib Mayes won third low net
in the second flight, Ann
Pouchak was first low net in the
third flight, Connie Ledford
third low net in the fourth flight,
and Peggy Jackson first low
gross in the fourth flight.
