Oc«ob«r 22. 19I1KIMGS MOUNTAIN HERALD-Pag* 7A Textile Week Proclaimed PROCLAMATION TEXTILE WEEK WHEREAS, It is appropriate that werecognize the substantial economic and social contribu tions of the textile industry in our community; WHEREAS, We recognize that the North Carolina textile industry provides directly over 230,000 jobs and some $2 billion in annual payroll, and indirectly generates thousands of other jobs and millions of dollars in payroll through related in dustries, which depend heavily upon textiles: and WHEREAS, It is a fact that textiles provide 833,080 jobs and annual payroll of $78,413,321 in Kings Mountain and Cleveland County, and apparel manufac turing adds additional jobs and extensive payroll to the Cleveland County Economy; and WHEREAS, It is in the best interests of our community, county, and state that we main tain a healthy, dynamic textile industry; NOW, THEREFORE, I, John Henry Moss, Mayor of the City of Kings Mountain, proclaim this week of October 19-23,1981 ** NORTH CAROLINA TEXTILE WEEK in Kings Mountain, and respect fully request that we take advan tage of this occasion to learn more about the textile industry, through the many activities that will be offered during this period.
