Russell W. Lenger, 59, Apart

ments, Kings Mountain, died
suddenly Saturday at Charlotte
Memorial Hospital.
He was a U.S. Marine veteran
of World W'ar II and a member
of First Presbyterian Church of
Kings Mountain. He was a
retired automotive technician
with General Motors.
Surviving are two sons, Mark
I enger of Jacksonville, Fla., and
Paul lenger of Port Huron,
Mich.; one daughter, Mrs.
Whitney Mirvis of Youngstown,
Ohio; his mother, Mrs. Alima
Hempton of Chicago; and one
brother, Winifred Lenger of
Chicago.
Funeral services were con
ducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at
McFwen Funeral Home in
Charlotte.

Denver Jerome (Curley)
Reynolds, 74, of Route 1,
Ga.stonia, died Tues., Nov. 10 at
Kings Mountain Hospital.
He was a native of Oconee
County, Ga., and the son of the
late Thomas and Ada Townsend
Reynolds.
He was a former owner of
Gulf stations in the Gastonia
area and was a carrier for the
Gastonia Gazette for the past 10
years. He was a charter member
of the Gaston County Rescue
Squad and Gastonia Moose
Lodge and a member of the
Order of Redmen.
Surviving are a daughter,
Joann Carpenter of Kings
Mountain; a foster daughter,
Nancy Lee of Gastonia; two
sons, Thomas Reynolds of
Gastonia and Fred Williams of
Dallas; 11 grandchildren and
four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were con
ducted Thurs., Nov. 12 at Sisk
Funeral Home in Bessemer City
by the Rev. Michael Sepaugh.
Burial was in Hollywood
Cemetery.

The Rev. Robert Lee Bell, 65,
of Dallas, died Friday at Gaston
Memorial Hospital.
Surviving are his mother, Hat
tie Bell of Dallas; his wife, Mary
Williams Bell; two sons, Vearnus
Bell of Charlotte and Vardren
Bell of Kings Mountain; two
daughters, Mrs. Barenias Moore
of Kigns Mountain and Mrs.
Betty Garvin of Dallas; and
eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were con
ducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. at
Adams Cahpel A.M.E. Zion
Church by the Rev. P.B.
Kilgore.
WILLIAM CROW
William Thomas Carl Melton
Crow Jr., 29, of Shelby, died
Wed., Nov. i I in an automobile
accident.
A Cleveland County native,
he was the son of Carl Melton
and Ruth White Crow.
Also surviving are his wife,
Laura Moss Crow; two sons,
Jamie Crow of Tommy Crow,
both of Shelby; two daughters,
Susan Crow of Kings Mountain
and Crystal Moss of the home; a
brother, Joe Crow of Shelby;
and three sisters, Mrs. Ralph
Clark, Mrs. David Dawson and
Mrs. Earl Bailes, all of Shelby.
He was employed by Bost
Bakery and was a member of
Hopewell Baptist Church. He
was a U.S. Army veteran.
Funeral services were con
ducted Friday at 4 p.m. at
Calvary Bapitist Church by the
Rev. Dan Wallace and the Rev.
Clarence Hampton. Burial was
in Sunset Cemetery.

Charlie William Wood, 83, of
1008 West Sixth Avenue,
Gastonia, died Monday.
A Gaston County native, he
was a retired employee of
Firestone Textiles.
Survivors include his wife,
Norma Beaver Wood; four sons,
Hoyt Wood of Stanley, Johnny
Wood of Chattanooga, Tenn.,
Frank Wood of Gastonia and
Daniel Wood of Cordele, Ga.;

Donald Lee Jones, 34, of
Shelby, died Tuesday morning in
Houston, Tex.
He is survived by his mother,
Jeanette Lovelace Jones Nance
of Shelby; stepfather, Howard
Nance; sons, Ronnie Lee-Jones
and Jerry Lee Jones, both of
Morganton; daughter. Crystal
Gail Jones of Morganton;
brother, Loyd Jones of Casar;

MINNIE CARROLL
Miss Minnie Carroll, 84, of
Route 3, Kings Mountain, died
Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Kings
Mountain Hospital.
She was a native of Gaston
County and the daughter of the
late William and Elizabeth
Foster Carroll. She was a retired
textile worker.
Surviving are one brother,
W.l. Carroll of Asheboro; sisters,
Mrs. Wilmon (Ellis) Payne of

Rev. A.B. (Bud) Falls, 59, of
Fair Bluff, died at 6 a.m.
Wedttesday at Kings Mountain
Hospital.
He was the pastor of Fair
Bluff United Methtxlist Church
and was a member of the North
Carolina Methodist Conference.
He had also served churches in
Walstonburg, Newton Cirove,
Yanceyville, Swcpsonville, St.
Pauls and Dallas.
He was a veteran of World
War 11.
Surviving are his wife, Helen
F. Falls; son, A. Buddy Falls III
of Wrightsville Beach;
daughters, Mrs. Kay Burgess of
