This year’s per formances are scheduled for December 19 at 2:30 and 8<X) p.m. at Hunter Huss High School Auditorium in Gastonia. ‘'The Nutcracker will be a vehicle to give performance op portunities to both serious dancers and inexperienced children,” says Sue Colvin, Gastonia dance instructor and association spokeswoman. “The Association wants the ballet to be a gift to the community.” Seventy Gastonia and area children will perform under the direction of Mrs. Gay Porter, former director of the Charlotte Regional Ballet.
