3 • • o • O 1 • ^’oday section b Thursday, February 18, 1982 ‘Charlie Brown‘ Opens Tonight At Little Theatre “YouYe A Good Man, Charlie Brown", a musical with an all young people cast, opens Thurs day and runs through Sunday at the Kings Mountain Little Theatre (old Parkgrace School auditorium) on Foote Mineral Road. Performances are scheduled for 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and at 3 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $3 for adults and SI .50 for children. Special group rates of one dollar per person for groups of 10 or more are available by calling 739-2711 after 6 p.m. Matthew and Heather Brad shaw, son and daughter of Robert and Camiel Bradshaw, play the lead roles of Charlie Brown and Lucy. Both are ex perienced Little Theatre per formers. Matthew, an eighth grader, performed in “Off With His Honorable Head" and Heather, a sixth grader, has per formed in “Off With His Honorable Head", “Cinderella", ‘Then Conquer We Must", “Girl Scout Spirit" and “The Saga of Dead Dog Gulch.” The cast of characters range from first to eighth graders, and some are making their theatre debut. The performance is under the direction of Debbie Ru.shing. Other characters with acting experience include Kenny Potter (Linus), a sixth grader and son of Jim and Betty Poter. He played in “Cool in the Furnace”, “Silent Night”, “Super Gift From Heaven” and “They All Sang Jesus”; Christy Dixon (Marcie), a third grader and daughter of Allen and Linda Dixon, who has played in “Super Gift From Heaven” and “They All Sang Jesus”; Kim Dixon (Snoopy), fifth grader and daughter of Gene and Eleanor Seism, who played in the “Fifth Grade Scrooge” at North School; Dan ny Waxter (Wood.stock), a first grader and son of Tom and Alena Waxter, who performed in “Off With His Honorable Head”; Paul Terry (Pig Pen), eighth grader and son of Glenda Potter, who performed in ‘Then Conquer We Must” and “Night of January 16”; Amy Dixon (chorus member), fifth grader and daughter of Jane Dixon, who played in the “Nutcracker Ballet”; Suzanne Lee (member of the chorus), sixth grade daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Joe Lee, who Snoopy (Kim Seism) shows his muscles to Woodstock (Danny Waxter)... played in “The Golden Grotto”; and Amy Morris (chorus member), seventh grade daughter of Jerry and April Mor ris, who has performed in “Down By The Creek Bank.” Making their debut include Bill Moskal (Schroder), sixth grade son of Dennis and Joy Moskal; Melissa Rikard (Patty), sixth grader and daughter of Vi vian and Jerry Rikard; Emily Campbell (Sallie), a second grader and daughter of Doyle and Anita Campbell; and chorus members Allison Barnett, fifth grader and daughter of Gertie and Carl Barnett; Johanna Pat terson, seventh grade daughter of Gilbert and Sadie Patterson; and O’Kelley Smith, sixth grade daughter of Bob and Mary Wade Smith. The production is funded by a North Carolina Arts Council grassroots grant.
