KM Debs Honored At Tea In Shelby Suity4wo Cleveland County Debutantes who will be presented at the 37th annual Debutante Ball on June 12 were honored at an orientation tea Wednesday at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Craven Williams in Shelby. The event was sponsored by the Shelby Charity League. Hostesses were Mrs. William Campbell, Secretary to the Debutantes, and Mrs. Dale Short, Assistant Secretary to the Debutantes. Guests were greeted by Mrs. Craven Willians and the hostesses, who introduced them to Mrs. Lacy Ballard, League President; and Mrs. Dale Bridges and Mrs. C. Rush Hamrick HI, Ball CoChairmen. Area debutantes include Judith Dawn Ham- bright, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Mrs. Bridges, Mrs. Hamrick and Mrs. Campbell welcomed the debutantes and previewed for them many of the gala events of the season, which culminates with the ball. Refreshments, including fruit punch, strawberries with powdered sugar, parsley bacon roll-ups, chicken salad canapes, pineapple cream cheese rounds with rosebud decoration, cheese daisies, orange balls and chocolate bon bons were served from the dining room table and from a table in the drawing room. The tea table in the dining room was decorated with a centerpiece of pink magnolia soulangeana in a cut crystal pedestal container flanked by a pair of Grecian Alabaster figurines. The Williams home was decorated with numerous anangements of forsythia, jonquils, dutch iris and other spring flowers. League co-chairmen Mrs. A.W. Archer and Mrs. Wayne Brunnick were in charge of tea ar rangements. Other League members assisting were Mrs. George Blanton Jr., Mrs. David Rose, Mrs. Stough Wray Jr., Mrs. John Schweppe Jr., Mrs. Dick Palmer, Mrs. Gerald Binion, Mrs. Tom Camp, Mrs. Jack Arey, Mrs. Harold Plaster Jr., Mrs. Lloyd Smith, Mrs. John Church and Mrs. Malcolm Brown. Mothers of the debutantes were honored Wednesday morning at a coffee at the Williams home. Refreshments, including coffee, tea.
