Grover Woman Injured In Saturday Car Wreck Ella Mae Hoper Ross, 30, of Route 1, Grover, was critically injured ^urday night in a one- car accident on Rod 1102. She is in Charlotte Memorial Hospital with spinal injuries. Ruby Hopper, 37, of Route 1, was alw injured and is listed in stable condition at Cleveland Memorial Hospital. The driver of the car, John Helper Jr., 33, of Route 1, Grover, was treated and released at Cleveland Memorial. According to Trooper G£. Mull of the State Highway Patrol, Hopper’s car ran off the road, struck a power pole, ran through a field and overturned several times. Damages were estimated at $1,0(X) to the car and $500 to the power pole. Mull said that when the car ran off the road, the muffler flew off and struck a parked car in a driveway. The car was owned by Manning Spinkler. Damages were $350. Hopper was charged with driving under the influence of in toxicating liquor and drivng while license revoked. Grover Police Chief Reports Vandalism Acts Grover Police Department reported two acts of vandalism over the weekend. Chief Mike Brown said that late Saturday night, someone entered the home of Margie A. White and caused an estimated $5,000 damage. Paint was thrown on the floors, tables broken, chairs slashed and several windows and other items / aSC' — CORTNEY FREDEU Horse Show Set April 3 Kings Mountain Saddle Cub will sponsor its first horse show of the season Sat., Apr. 3 beginn ing at 11 ajn. and continuing throughout the day. Intermis sion time will be 5 until 6 pm. Forty-three classes of beautiful show horses will be judged, with competition for English, Western and Game horses. Judges will be Calvert Ray of Fayetteville (English) and Bob McCartha of Chapin, S.C., (Western). High point trophies will be awarded in each of the three divisions and points accumulated will be credited toward the year-end High Point Awards which will be given at the close of the August show. Chief Brown said two juveniles were responsible and the case has been cleared. Cortney One Year Old Cortney Elizabeth Fredell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Fredell of Kings Moun tain, celebrated her first birthday March 23. She was honored at a party March 21 at Lake Nor man. A doll cake and cokes were served to family and friends who attended. Cortney is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Bridges and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Fredell, all of Kings Mountain, friends who attended.
