This year’s Fun Run, spon
sored by West School P.T.O.,
was held Saturday, at the Kings
Mountain High School track.
All elementary schools in the
Kings Mountain School District
participated in the event.
The races were divided into
three classifications according to
the grade level. The 'A mile race
was opened to K - second grade,
'A mile race for third - fifth
grade, and a one mile race open
ed to all who did not participate
in a previous race.
The winners of the mile
run were as follows:
Kindergarten division - first
place Jeff Taylor (West), second
place Marquis Adams
(Bethware), third place Daniel
Marlow (West). First Grade
Division - first place Jermaine
Grier (West), second place
l.amar Burris (West), third place
Michael Roberts (West). Second
Grade Division - first place Hong
Sourisoud (West), second place
Souli Sourisoud (West), third
place Keith McNair (West).
The third, fourth, and fifth
graders competed in the Vi mile
race. The winners were as
follows; Third Grade Division -
first place Andy Hollifield
(West), secon dplace Marcus
Brooks (North), third place Ryan
Broadwell (North).
Stuart Spires from North cap
tured the big win of the day by
finishing first in the one mile
race. Coming in second was
Toby Deaton (West), and third
place Kelly Bess (West).
Greg’s Auto Machine donated
this year’s trophies. The engrav
ing was compliments of Dell
inger’s Jewel Shop. The Kings
Mountain businesses donated
merchandise for the draw ings.
