The event wa sponsored by the Kings Mountain and Cleveland County Programs for the Aging in cooperation with the Cleveland County Health Deapartment. Individuals were screened for blood pressure, weight, glaucoma, anemia, diabetes, TB and hearing. Thirty-eight cases of diabetes and 34 cases of high blood pressure were diagnosed. Assisting in the screenings were Cleveland County Mental Health, Kings Mountain Woman’s Club, First Baptist Church, Kings Mountain Lions Qub, Harris-Teeter, TG& Y, and a host of volunteers. Billie Farris of Kings Moun tain prepared a hot lunch for all volunteers and the Kings Moun tain Sertoma Qub conducted the hearing screenings. ' HEARING CHECK • Lynn Wallborn. The course consisted of five weekends of training in many areas, such as. Personnel Management, Radio-Telephone Procedures, Land Navigation, Training to lead, and Issuing Pla toon Orders.
