Aiug 20. morning service began at the Maple Temple Christian Church at 830 o clock with Sunday School Mr. Floyd Scott, superintendant. was in charge At 11:00 o'clck the pastor, Rev, M F booker, made the call to worship and the senior choir marched in singing “Were March ing to Zion" After the choir had taken its place, it sang 'Gloria Patri” We were then led in prayer by our pastor as the choir softly chanted “The Lord's Prayer. The first hymn of the morning was "The Church's One Founda tion’. The scripture lesson was then read by the pastor from th® 3th chapter of the book of the Prophet Jeremiah, verses 1-22 Prayer was then offered by Dea con Leman Evans The missionary offering was lift ed as the choir sang “O Zion Haste . Deacon William Hinton asked God's blessings over this offering. The announcement* of the week and the introduction of visitors then took place The general, offering was lifted as the choir sang “When the Roll Is Called Up Younder”. This offering was consecrated by the singing of “Praise God from whom all blessing”. Before the pastor began his ser mon the choir sang “Climbing high Mountains". The theme of the pastor's ser mon was ‘ A disease, a physican, A remedy. A Cure and a Reason ~ Much was centered around the ?£nd verse of Jeremiah This verse -eads. ' la there no balm in Gil daughter of my peiple recovered” ' Why then is not the health of the daugter of my people recovered?” This was a most enjoyable ser mon. Immediately after the message of the morning the choir offered as an invitational hymn “Jesus is Calling . The doxology was sung and the benediction was pronounced by ReV. C C. Burnett.
