Wednesday evening, Oct. 25, at
eight o’clock p. m. in the gym
nasium.
Friday night, 7-9 p. m., the
traditional “Bonfire* will get
underway on a site on the school
campus near the Agriculture
Building.
The Alumni will hold their
business meeting and Luncheon
In the school cafeteria Satur
day morning at 11:30 a. m.

Harrison’s colossal Parade
featuring “A Wonderful World
Os Color” will begin at 1:45
p. m. Saturday Oct. 28, from
the school on through down
town Selma and back to Harri
son’s Atmetic field accom
panied by bands, high stepping
majorettes, marching units,
beautiful queens, artistically
decorated cars, floats, and anx
ious faces.
The biggest event of the day
is the Homecoming Gam 9, Rich
ard B. Harrison Bulldogs ver
sus Sampson High School. The
kick off is set for 3 p. m.
Saturday. “Miss Horn acorn lng”
and “Miss Harvest” will be
presented and crowned dur
ing half time festivities.
Advanced tickets are avail
able at the School for attendance
to the football game. - -Adults
SI.OO and for students $.50.
At the gate the tickets will be
$1.25 and $.75, respectively.

Mrs. Gladys Pulley Cheeks of
6 Hyde Terrace died in Wake
Memorial Hospital Saturday.
Funeral services were conduct

Carolina, someone stole a
dictaphone from the Police
Department’s Crime Preven
tion Bureau, then they came
back and stole the lock off
the office door.
When E. B. Jones of Hahi
ra, Georgia, was 18 years old
he caught a small alligator
and carried it around in his
pocket. Now, 60 years later,
the alligator is six feet long,
but still lives at the Jones
house and doesn’t disturb
anyone, although he does
sometimes startie visitors.
Mrs. Josephine Curzon ask
ed the policeman who passes
her house every day in Bat
cambe, England, if he would
look after her pets while she
went away. He said he would
and then learned she had 75
dogs, 35 cats and an assort
ment of ducks.

pastor and choir. The first

responsive reading, prayer and
second hymn. The mission of
fering was collected with pray
er following. The ushers col
lected the second offering. The
sermonett was delivered by the
pastor, Rev. V. S. Singletary
and children. Message was sung
by the choir. The pastor came
forward with the sermon. His
text was found at Revelations
3:11 verse, subject; “The Grip
That Holds.”
At 5 p. m. evening service
began. The pastor again de
livered the sermon. His text
was taken from the Book of
Hebrew 2:11 verse, subject:
“The Doctrine of Sanctifica
