Friday night, 7-9 p. m., the traditional “Bonfire* will get underway on a site on the school campus near the Agriculture Building. The Alumni will hold their business meeting and Luncheon In the school cafeteria Satur day morning at 11:30 a. m. Saturday Oct. 28, from the school on through down town Selma and back to Harri son’s Atmetic field accom panied by bands, high stepping majorettes, marching units, beautiful queens, artistically decorated cars, floats, and anx ious faces. The biggest event of the day is the Homecoming Gam 9, Rich ard B. Harrison Bulldogs ver sus Sampson High School. The kick off is set for 3 p. m. Saturday. “Miss Horn acorn lng” and “Miss Harvest” will be presented and crowned dur ing half time festivities. CHEEKS Mrs. Gladys Pulley Cheeks of 6 Hyde Terrace died in Wake Memorial Hospital Saturday. Funeral services were conduct ed from the Church of Christ Thursday afternoon at 3:30 by the Rev. Jonas. When E. B. Jones of Hahi ra, Georgia, was 18 years old he caught a small alligator and carried it around in his pocket. Pray er service was led by the mis sionaries with prelude by the pastor and choir. The first hymn was sung followed by the responsive reading, prayer and second hymn. The mission of fering was collected with pray er following. The ushers col lected the second offering. The sermonett was delivered by the pastor, Rev. V. S. Singletary and children. Message was sung by the choir. The pastor came forward with the sermon. His text was found at Revelations 3:11 verse, subject; “The Grip That Holds.” At 5 p. m. evening service began.
