John Wayne Williams, whose

YMCA, reported to police that
he was standing in Burnett's
Grill, on South St., Thursday,
at 10:46 p. m., and someone
struck him on the arm and on
the head. He found that he had
been cut, with a knife, on the
right arm and on the head.

not treated too nicely at a
friend’s home, about 9 p. m.
Thursday. The police report
shows that he was at 627 Doro-'
thea Dr. and that he had an
argument with Ann Williams,
only 13, and she put a 1/2’'
cut on his left leg with a butch
er knife. The age of Rand
was not given.

Saturday, Jan. 27 proved to be
a red-letter day for Delta’s
Jabberwock participants, as the
machinery began to move Into
high gear for the production of
the 1968 Jabberwock, sponsor
ed by the Raleigh Alumnae
Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta
Sorority.
Forty-eight of the fifty young
senior ladies who are partici
pants in the Jabberwock took
the standardized test adminis
tered by Sorors Alice Solomon
and Elaine Perry at Shaw Uni
versity, This test must betak
en by all the girls who wish
to compete for the academic
scholarships that will be award
ed at the Jabberwock on March
9.
Saturday afternoon proved to
be just as exciting or even
more so than the testing ses
sion. Approximately sixty girls
and parents were present to
participate in or to witness the
Jabberwock preliminary Talent
