First Baptist Sunday School opened at its usual time. The subject of the lesson was: “A Way of Peace.’’ Following the Sunday School, morning wor ship services began at 11:15 a.m. The gospel chorus rend ered music, accompanied by Mr. Charlie Prince. The Pastor, Rev. N. A. Trice, delivered the message. Visitors worshipping with us were members of the neighboring churclies. We welcome all visi tors to our church every first and third Sundays. Immediately following the morning services, the gospel chorus of First Baptist rend ered music in Durham on the male chorus anniversary at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Sunday night at 7;30, the gos pel chorus of First Baptist ap peared on the Young Adult choir’s first anniversary at the United Church of Christ, Hol ly Springs, along with Poplar Spring chorus, the Capital City Five and others. Jones is pastor. Annual baptizing was held Sunday morning at 10 a.m. with Rev. Jones presiding. Pas tor Jones chose his text for the morning message from II Tim. 2:26 and his message dealt with "Suffering.” At the close of the service, Holy communion was administered and ten candidates received the right hand of fel lowship. At 2:30 p.m. part one of the Young Adult Gospel chorus’s first anniversary began. Parti pat ing groins were: The First Cosmoplitan Baptist Church’s chorus, First Baptist junior choir, Holly Springs Communi ty male chorus, Holly Springs, Lillington Grove Gospel chor us, and the Young Adult Children’s choir. Part two of the program began at 8 p.m. with the Capital City Five of Raleigh as special guests. Again their special at traction was the Young Adult Children’s choir. Others help ing celebrate were, Pleasant Union Gospel chorus, Poplar Springs Gospel chorus, All- Girl chorus of Holly Springs, and Fuquay First Baptist's Gos pel chorus. Mrs. Lillie Wilson, captain of Group No. 5 was crowned “Mrs, Gospel Chorus 1970.” Mrs, Wil son turned in $213.00. Group No. 5, as a whole, reported $290.00, Group No. 4, of which M rs.
