MEDITATION A SERMONFTTE BY CO! IN DOUGLAS “This is the day which Je hovah hath made; we will re joice and be glad In it ’* - - Psalms 118:24. Some of the most unhappy people In the world are those who are filled with self-blame. Many of these persons seem to have everything to make them happy, but they are not able to enjoy it because their minds and hearts are filled with feel ings of guilt and regret. No matter what our past, no matter what has gone on before, we should not look back with shame or regret upon the paths by which we have come into our present place in life. You are what you are TODAY'--not what you were YESTERDAY'. Learn to live in the present 0 Enjoy the place where you are now! of course, we all should make good use of the knowledge we have gained th rough past experience - but we need also to forget the pain In the past, we need to re fuse to relive in our mind any unhappy experiences or mis takes. God is a forgiving Father, and He is always giving us new op portunities to learn and to grow. We are God’s beloved children and we shall always be loved by Him. It is for us to accept His love, to look forward with faith in ourselves and in the good ness of the life He has given us. Every day can be an adventure; every day can be a day of re joicing. Everyday can add to the development of our innate God qualities; everyday can in crease our understanding of Him and His blessings; every day can bring us new and en riching experiences. All we have to do is release from our minds all broodlngs and regrets over the past, live In the pres ent, and accept the blessings God is giving us today and every day. “Who forgiveth all thine in iquities; who healeth all thy diseases” -- Psalms 103:3,4.
