Charles N. Bourne. Mr. Edmondson was a pleasant Christian gentleman, who will be missed in his home, in his church, and on the streets of Raleigh. Former pastors attending his funeral and taking a part in the services were Rev. *C. R. Scott Rev. L. S. Penn and Rev. G. \\. Larkin. A beautiful tribute was giv en bv Mrs. Addie G. Stroud. New Baptist Church Opens Sunday On Sunday, September 13, the grand opening of the First Bap tist Church in East Raleigh will take place at Stratford Park- Apollo Heights area. The name of this church hasn’t been ful ly established at this point, due to low membership. This projected church is lo cated at the corner of Peyton Street and Dacian Rd. in Strat ford Park, Sunday's services will start at 11 o’clock with the piastor, Rev. H. V. Miles in charge. At 3 o’clock, the Rev. F. D. Terry of West Durham Baptist Church, Durham will bring the dedicatorial message. Also ap pearing on the program will be the senior choir, of White Oak Hill Baptist Church, Middlesex the male chorus and the junior choir of First Baptist, Holly- Springs. Dr. Frederick Bur roughs of Raleigh will lie there singing one of his favorite solos. Refreshments will lie served following these services. Park ing space will be provided by the church in the rear. Rev. Miles is a schoolteach er, who has other churches and also holds several degrees. He is married and has one .son. He lives at 708 Peyton Street.
