LOUISE CEASAR FUQUAY - VARINA - Our Churches held Sunday Schools at the regular time with the supts. in charge, First Baptist opened its Sun day School at 10 with the supt., airs. Ceasar Mr, A iford Thorpe, presid ing, The subject of the lesson was, "Growing Through Giv ing." The text was taken from , Romans 12:1-8. Golden text; ' Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give, not grudgingly, or of necessity, for God loveth a cheerful giver," K Cor. 9?7. After Sunday School, we were called to worship by our pas tor, Rev. N. A. Trice. Rev. Trice delivered the message. Music was rendered b> Hie senior choir. You are always welcome at First Baptist Church every first and third Sundays. Visitors were from neighboring churches, You are always welcome at Sweet Springs AME Zion Church every third Sunday. The pastor is Rev, G, M, Griffins, Wednesday night, Nov. 20, there will lie an annual Thanks giving service at the Fuquay Baptist Church on Main Street. The speaker will be the Rev. William Freeman. There will boa musical pro gram held at First Baptist Church Sunday night at 7:30. Appearing on the progs am will be the Gospel chorus and others. John H, Jones, presided, ras ter Jones chose his text from Acts 3:11-12 and used foi a theme, "A Fixed Heart." The young adult choir rendered mu sic, with yours trulx it the piano. At 2 p.m.. Rev. Jones, choir and congregation were invited to New Bethel United Church of Christ to help them celebrate their pastor’s, Re',, ,T, R, John son. 10th anniversary. Rev. Jones’ subject was, "Hold Your Peace and God Will Fight Your Battle. Dinner was .served following the service. We returned to the United Church of Christ Sunday even ing lit 6 o’clock for a service, sponsored by the November Birtli Month Club, of which Mrs. Aderine Dennis is captain.
