and, in doing so he passed the
Latin Casino Club. He stated
that at that time a young Negro
female and three Negro males
confronted him and told him that
they were going to beat him up.
He said the woman pulled a hawk
bill knife and swung it at him
three or four times, and he
then ran south in the !000 block
of Holmes, but the three males
caught him, threw him down and
kicked him in the ribs. He ad
mitted knowing, the four su
spects, but did not know their
names or addresses. He said

saw a colored male take a pair
of shoes and try them, on at the
K-Mart, 400 E. Six Forks Rd.

grabbed it and struck her over
the head, shattering the bottle.
A witness, Oscar Willie Bla

“the law” that he saw Cannady
strike Mrs. Archibald with the
bottle, after the two had been
arguing, but said the woman
did not strike Cannady. The of
ficer stated: "I received the
call and upon arrival on the
scene, the complainant was
standing or. the front porch
bleeding profusely. She was
taken to W ake Memorial Hospi
tal by ambulance. Cannady, who
was still sitting on the front
porch, was charged with assault
with a deadly weapon. The com
plainant suffered two one inch
lacerations on top of her head.”

Education at Saint Augustine's College. She has done exten
sive stud;, in Early Childhood Education in this country and
in England. Dr. Forte talked very softly to the parents a .i
teachers encouraging them to be kind to the children and t! e
children will do what is expected. She told the parents about
the organization of the school system In England, particular
ly Early Childhood Education which is divided into three
phases: Infant school, Nursery and Primary. There was a
question and answering period, which was very enlightening
to the group.

suffered a cut on the head.
