Mrs. Ceasar First Baptist opened its Sun day School at 10 a.m, with the supt., Mr. Al ford Thorpe, in charge. A hymn was sung and the scripture read ing was led by the superintendent with prayer following. The subject of the lesson was "Rid: Toward God.” The background scrip ture was taken from St. Mat -t!:ew 6:10-34 and St. Luke 12: 13-21. The memory selection v. as "seek ye first the King dom of God and His righteous r>e added unto you,” Matthew 7. >l. Jackson is pastor. Music was rendered by the gospel s n, deln* red tin* message. He used for a subject, "let Not Your Heart Be Troubled,” with the emphasis or: love of one another. The senior ushers were on duty for the worship services. Visitors worshipping at the services were members of neighboring churches and Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Caesar. You are always welcome at St. Au gusta. Alumni Holds Anniversary Banquet In Greensboro Inn FAYETTEVILLE-Some forty alumni of Fayetteville State U niversity, representing the TRAID CHAPTER, gathered re cently at the King Inn Restaur ant in Greensboro for their First Annual Dinner Meeting. The Group represented alumni from Greensboro, High Point, Burlington and Martinsville, Va. Dr. R. L. Hannon, Director of Development and Universi ty Relations was the guest speaker for the occasion. In this talk, he highlighted the building program, scholar ships, academic affairs and institutional expansion. Dr. Hannon’s major emphasis was placed on the topic of the high cost of operating an institution of higher learning and the needs of greater financial support for FSU by its alumni.
