The “Chronological Life of Richard Allen”, was the subject used by Miss Joanne Peerman. Music was by the Richard Allen choir, singing, “My Faith Looks Up To Thee,” and “We Shall Over Come,” and “Pioneers In Protest.” A sermon record by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., was heard, along with excerpts from the 1964 General Conference. It was solemn, as well as inspiring. Flowers were given by Mrs. Virginia Stroud. On Saturday, March 6, the Pastor's Aids will sponsor a dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rankin, Brook St. At the First Baptist Church, the Citizens Committee for Progress sponsored a very fine voter registration drive, which was very helpful with sound in formation from the guest speak er, Mr. James W. Edwards of Durham. On the 3rd Sunday in March, at 3 p.m., at the Second Baptist Church, the Pastor’s Aid Club will sponsor a singing program. You are invited. It features the Newelles Chapel Chorus and others. On March 15, at 7 p.m., the No. two choir will celebrate its 25th anniversary at the Sec ond Baptist Church. Dance were finished and it will tie held on March 19 at the Uptowners Club. The meeting was closed and turned over to the hostess, who served a delicious barbeque dinner which was enjoyed by all.
