in the leg. No charges were

day. She said the pocketbook

was listed as a suspect.

panies, according to a report
to Carolina Pow er 4 Light Com
pany by the consumer protection
division of the North Carolina
Attorney General's office.
Such imposters will tell their
victim that his meter needs
attention, Ms wiring needs to
be repaired, or that they are
surveying for a new power line
and require an immediate de
posit on the alleged work to be
done. In all cases, money from
the householder is the object of
the game. In some cases, one
imposter will divert the house
holder while an accomplice en
