The family of Mrs. Kittie
Glover Cumbo and the late
Benjamin F. Gumbo hold their
annual family reunion at the
Hilton Inn, April 9, 10, 11,
1971.
All six children and their
families were present tohonor
their mother.
Mrs. Cumbo, a retired public
school teacher, reared her
family in Raleigh, after the
death of her husband, a busi
nessman.
Reunion activities began with
dinner on Friday evening, fol
lowed by a “Chit-Chat" ses
sion. On Saturday, the family
enjoyed sight-seeing tours,
shopping sprees and “Fun
Night". Mrs. Bernice Gumbo
Coles thrilled the family and
friends with her “1971 Col
lection of original poems and
songs" depicting childhood
memories, especially her ren
dition of “She Did It Her Way",
dedicated to Mrs. Cumbo.
On Easter Sundav, the family
and trlends worshipped at First
Baptist Church of which Dr.
Charles Ward is pastor. John
D, Lennon made a cash pres
entation from the family in
honor of Mrs. Cumbo to the
Church’s building fund. After
church. Mrs. Gumbo's child
ren honored her with a birth
day dinner in the Ambassador
Room of the Hilton Inn. Join
