Herring rushed up to his ad
dress, 1812 Oakwood Avenue,
and as soon as she walked
through the door Mr. Mltchael
started beating her with his fists
and feet. He allegedly told her
that she wasn’t going to run out
on him, and go uptown every
night. Miss Herring had gone
uptown the night before to a
girlfriend’s house, and Mr.
Mltchael wouldn’t listen to rea
son, according to Police re
ports continued stating that Miss
Herring suffered cuts on the
face, and a bad bruise over
the left eye. She alleged she
was going to “take out a war
rant.”

Frank Bebose 417 Alston St.
told Officer T.T. Street that
at 2:30 p.m. Saturday he was
stabbed In the abdomen by Har
vey Hunt, according to official
Police reports. Hunt allegedly
said that Debose came to his
house while drinking and started
an argument, and he, Debose,
advanced on him with a knife
and he stabbed Debose. Hunt
was allegedly “hauled off” to
jail on an assault with a dead
ly weapon charge.

Clifton Rogers 533 E. Martin
St. told Officer C.S. Carter that
at l;05 a.m. Saturday three
colored males jumped him from
behind and beat him about the
face, according to official Po
lice reports. The suspects al
legedly beat him up and stole
$3.00 from him. The reports
Indicate that Rogers had sever
al bruises and cuts on his face,
but he refused to go to the hos
pital for treatment. He alleged
he would sign a warrant.

briel Sanders that he was at
204 1/2 Selwyn Alley at 11:45
p.m. Friday when an argument
occurred between he and Oble
Elliott. McNeil further stated
that Oble Elliott assaulted him
by pointing a gun at him and
cutting at him with a knife,
as he held the gun on him,
according to official Police re
ports. The reports Indicate that
McNeil suffered a four Inch cut
of the right Index finger, and
that he would sign a warrant
against the subject, Elliott.

told Officer J.C. Bobbitt at 9 : 56
p.m. Friday that Clance Barber,
same address, came home In
a rage, grabbed a butcher knife,
and stated he was going to kill
someone, according to official
Police reports. He allegedly
slammed the knife into the floor,
broke the handle, and cut his
hand. The reports indicate that
he then staggered outside and
fell off the porch. At this point
the complainant called the Po
lice, according to Police
reports.

ports. Montague was "hauled
off” on an assault with a dead
ly weapon charge.

S. East St. told Officer H.W,
Hagwood at 1:56 a.m. that he
was walking east In the 200
block of Bragg St. when five
colored males, ages between
19-22, approached him wanting
to sell him some cigarettes or
cigars, according to official Po
lice reports. The reports in
dicate that they had approxi
mately 10 cartons of cigarettes
and five boxes of cigars. When
he didn’t want an) they jumped
him, beat him, and stole his.

Glover at 5:00 p.m. Sunday that
her and the three kids were
walking down Jthe 500 block of
East Edenton St.,’when her hus
band hit her In the head with
a brick, according to official
Police reports. She allegedly
signed a warrant on Wallace
Whitley, same address, for as
sault on a female. "The Law”
arrested Whitley the same day,
according to Police reports.

Virginia May Marsh 224
Bledsoe Avenue told Officer B,
W. Hamilton that after 10:30
p.m. Saturday that she last saw
her wedding rings about 3 or 4
p.m. Saturday, according to of
ficial Police reports. She alleg-
edly discovered the rings were
missing Sunday at approxi
mately 11:30 a.m. The reports
indicate that she stated she
thought Curtis Harrington Jr.
took the rings, because he knew
where she kept them. He al
legedly had been going with the
complainant. The Police re
ports further indicate that there
were no witnesses, who saw
the subject take the rings, valued
at S.IBO.

STRUCK IN FACE
Officer D.W. Martin received
a "Police Emergency” call
12:58 p.m. Saturday to 1842
Eastern Blvd,, the residence of
Johnny Jones, according to of
ficial Police reports. The re
ports Indicate that upon arriv
ing the Officer learned that
Jones, and his wife were ar
guing. While the Officer at
tempted to settle this argument,
Mr. Jones and his brother-in
law, Lawrence R. Henderson,
began to argue, according to Po
lice reports, Henderson al
legedly advanced toward Mr.
Jones and struck him in the face
with hie fist. The reports in
dicate that the Investigating Of
ficer and Sgt, Hinton had to pull
the subjects apart. Lawerence
Roosevelt Henderson, age 29,
was "hauled off” to Jail for as
sault and battery.
