The chorus sang so beautifully the hymn “Leaning On The Everlasting Arms’’. The scripture was read from Exodus 31:8-18, The invo cation was given by Deacon Ba ker; the chorus sang, ‘'Dove Lifted Me.’’ The Mission Of fering was tJessed by Rev. Sanders. Announcement and recog nition of visitors were made by Miss Joan Moore. Medical Student Weds Law Student In Winston WINSTON-SALEM - Miss Vir gina Deanne Newell was wed to Mr. Paul Dwaine Payne at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 4, at First Baptist Church on Highland Avenue in Winston- Salem. The Reverend Howard Cunningham, Raleigh, per formed the double-ring cere mony. The former Miss Newell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Newell of Winston-Salem, is a second year medical stu dent at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Newell is Dean of Men at Winston-Salem State Univer sity. Mr. Payne, a third year law student at the University of Akron and employed by the Sum mitt County Welfare De partment, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul D. Payne of Akron, Ohio. The Banner class and attendence were by-class No. 2 taught by Asst. supt. Mr. Mel vin Hooker. The review of the lesson was also given by Mr. Hooker. Morning-service was opened by our Pastor, Rev. I. Moss greorj velvet ribbon tied the waist lino and she wore a matching hat and carried a small moss green bag. The maid and matron of honor, Miss Glenda Newell, the bride’s sister, and Mrs. Jessica Mat son of Hyattsville, Maryland wore formal gowns of yellow crepe with beaded motifs of yellow satin ribbon on the skirts. Their head pieces matched their gowns. The bridemaids: Mrs. Trina Garrett of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Linda Wilson of Oxenhili, Maryland, Miss Amelie Oubre of New York City, Miss Lloydine Perry of Washington, D.C. and Miss Ro salind White of Gary, Indiana wore identical gowns. The flo wer girl, Miss Lynn Kimbrough of San Francisco, cousin of the bride wore a gown matching the bridesmaids. They carried a bouquet of white and yellow dai sies. Master Eric Kimbrough of San Francisco, cousin of the bride carried a lined sa tin pillow. Th.e bride's gown was her de butante dress, designed and made by Mrs. Willie Ote\ Kay of Raleigh, a famous fashion designer. It was a gown of candlelight silk pcau do soiro, featured a bodice with high duchess nock line and long fitted sleeves trimmed in appliques of re-embroidered alencon la<• e beaded in seed pearls and iri - descent sequins. The skirt front as well as the cathedral court train which fell from the shoulders repeated the motifs of beaded lace. Hoi full length veil of French illusion was at tached to a matching head piece. She carried a cascaded bou quet of white and yellow dai sies. The best man was Mr. Payim’s brother, Hal Payne, of Cleve land.
