One of the larger groups will be headed by school of ficials of Robersonville, N. C., bringing more than 50 club mem bers from that area of the State. Many group* from any other sec tions of the State have also indi cated they would be present for the Special Lost Colony Future Home makers Day. HD PLANNING GROUP ANNOUNCES PROGRAMS Dare County Council to Meet at Rodanthe November 1. The program planning commit tee for the Dare County Home Demonstration Clubs met at the of fice of Mary Kirby, home demon stration agent, Aug. 7, to discuss plans for Home Demonstration programs during 1952. Tentative plans were set up to produce more effective work through Home Dem onstration Clubs in the county dur i ing the coming year. It was decided that a long time program of work should be fol lowed, with a program beginning this year to be followed for ape ■ riod of several years. More work should be accomplished in Clothing, House Planning and Home Man agement, Health, and Nutrition. “Make Good Cornbread Better” will be the September demonstra tion and Living Room arrangement will be the October program. Other programs which will be given dur ing the year will be bathroom plan ning, lighting, making slip covers, buying, selection and alteration of ; ready made clothing. Making a tour of homes in Dare county was discussed. To Meet at Rodanthe The second meeting of the Dare County Council is planned at Ro danthe, November 1. The Rodanthe- Waves Home Demonstration Club i will serve lunch. Miss Ruth Cur rent, State Home Demonstration Agent will be the main speaker. GARDEN CLUB DIRECTORS TO TOUR ISLAND SITE AUG. 17 The Board of Directors of the Garden Club of North Carolina will hold its first meeting of the year at Manteo, on August 17, with the local club, one of the newest in the state, acting as hostess to the group. During the day, mem bers of the Club from all parts of the state will tour the site of the proposed Elizabethan Garden which if plans carry, will be cre ated on Lost Colony property ad jacent to Fort Raleigh. The program of the day includes a meeting of the executive commit tee of the State Garden Club in Manteo Methodist Church at 1J o’clock. At 12:30 o’clock tie group will have luncheon at Roanoke Inn here followed at 2 o’clock by an other meeting of the Board of Di rectors.
