ker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Marvin Parker of Wanchese and
ENFN Carroll Thomas Fitchett,
United States Coast Guard, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Fitchett of
Litchfield Park, Arizona, took
place Sunday afternoon, De
cember 27 at 3:00 o’clock in Beth
any Methodist Church. Wanchese.
Rev. C. W. Guthrie performed
the ring ceremony.
The church was decorated with
palm, fern, native pine and ar
rangements of white gladioli,
white poinsettias and lighted
cathedral candles.
Mrs. Dallas Tillett played the
wedding music. Soloist was Miss
Bettie Ray Sawyer who sang “All'
For You”. A trio composed of
Misses Sawyer, Linda Gaskill and I
Lottie Gallop sang “I Love You I
Truly” and as a duet Misses Gal-'
lop and Gaskill sang “O Perfect
Love.”
The bride who was given in j
. marriage by her father, wore a .
waltz length wedding gown of |
chantilly lace with a shaped bo
dice and sweetheart neckline and i
long sleeves ending in wedding
peaks over the hands. Her finger-1
tip veil of illusion fell from a
shaped satin cap caught at each !
side with rosettes of pearls and
orange blossoms. She carried a
prayer book topped with white
caranations and showered with
satin streamers. \

a bridesmaid. They wore waltz

FUTURE TREE PLANTED
Columbia—A Cedar Tree has
been planted this year on the lawn
of the Tyrrell County Court House,
by the Junior Chamber of Com
merce, with the hopes that hereto
fore at Christmas there will be a
living Christmas tree, which also
will grace the surroundings dur
ing the entire year.
