STUMPY POINT NEWS Glenn and Brantley Twiford spent Thursday in Norfolk. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Midgette have moved back home after living in Norfolk. Jimmy Hart of Norfolk was the guest of Miss Pat Twiford Sunday. Mrs. Grace Golden, Mrs. Cora Twiford, and Mrs. Wilma Midgette and son, John Cal, spent the week end in Sea Level with Mr. and Mrs. 1 George Golden. Mr. Midgette and Mr. Golden came to Stumpy Point ■ from Sea Level by boat Monday. Dale Payne is recovering from a recent operation. Mrs. Maxine Quidley and girls, Joan, Vivian, and Darlene, are vis iting Alf Hooper. Miss Nancy Payne of Middle town was the guest of Wanda Midgett Saturday night. The local Methodist Youth Fel lowship attended a sub-district meeting at Wanchese, Saturday, June 26. The W.S.C.S. held Officers Train ing Day at the church Thursday. I STUMPY POINT SHOWER HONORS RECENT BRIDE Mrs. William Meekins Hooper was recently honored at a mis cellaneous bridal shower at the home of Mrs. A. C. Hooper in Stumpy Point. The shower was given by Mrs. Bob Midgett and Mrs. McCoy Hooper. A very in teresting program was presented by Mrs. Floyd Hooper and Mrs. Jasper Hooper. Prizes were awarded Mrs. Mary Wise and Mrs. A. C. Hooper, which they presented to the bride. Forty guests attended and remembered the bride with gifts. Ice cream, nuts, mints and homemade cake were served and favors were miniature umbrellas. Mrs. Hooper is the former Miss Lois Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Johnson of South Mills and Mr. Hooper is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Hooper of Stumpy Point. Both were members of the Camden School faculty for 1953-54. Mr. Hooper has recently been in ducted in the Armed Service and is now stationed at Camp Gor dan, Ga.
