Midgett, 111, of Engel- was presented with the of America’s Green Bar jvWwd at the Beaufort-Hyde Dis trict’s annual Father and Son Banquet, held Wednesday night at Chocowinity. Mr. Midgett was presented the award in recogni tion of his outstanding service as a leader with the Engelhard Scout unit. A prize for the best Scout Week window display in the district was presented to Swan Quarter Troop 213. The window carried out the national Boy Scout theme for the year, conservation. It is located in the Berry Co., and will remain on display throughout the re mainder of this week. Other win dow displays by the Pantego and Yeatesville units received honor able mention. The banquet Wednesday night was attended by more than 400; A. M. Dinsmore, F. B. I. agent from Charlotte, was the principal speaker. A good attendance was reported from Belhaven, and also from Pantego. The banquet was one of the highlights of this year’s Boy Scout Week, February 6-12. Other troop activities included observing Scout Sunday by attending church in a body, and doing a special good turn for one of the sponsoring in stitutions by serving supper to the members. MANTEO PERSONALS Mr. and Mrs. Charles Marshall spent several days last week in New York City. Mrs. Harry Watkins and daugh ter, Jean, of Portsmouth, Va., are visiting Mrs. Watkins’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Russell. Mrs. Allen L. Mann, Jr., and baby; Mrs. H. C. Smith and Mrs. Harry Watkins spent Tuesday afternoon in Elizabeth City. While there they visited Mrs. Watkins’ sister, Mrs. Rudolph Peele, in the Albemarle Hospital. Rudolph Peele and Tom Russell visited Mrs. Peele Tuesday night in the Albemarle Hospital, Eliza beth City. Mrs. Frances Gray is a patient in the Marine Hospital, Norfolk, I Va.
