Leslie Wise returned home Sun day from Pungo District Hospital where he was a patient Miss Mollie Lou Knight had as her Sunday guests, Jimmy Cox of Engelhard and Wanda Midgette. Rev. and Mrs. M. W. Maness and daughters, Bettie Ruth and Ann of Burlington, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Payne. Mrs. Jack Gaskill and children of Elizabeth City spent Sunday and Monday with the L. W. Hoopers. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hooper spent Monday in Elizabeth City. Capt and Mrs. Russell Nixon and son Johnny left Monday for Oceanside, Cal., where Capt. Nixon will be stationed until July. Carson Meekins spent Friday night here, returned to Norfolk Saturday to be with his wife, who is a patient at Norfolk General Hospital. The M.Y.F. gave an Easter pro gram at night. An Easter program was given at the Pentecostal church Sunday night by the children. The Jean Meadows Circle met at the home of Mrs. Ruth Byrd Tues day night with 17 members pres ent. A parcel post sail will begin at 12:00 o’clock April 23rd at the school building. Everyone is in vited to come out. It will last till all items are sold. The Sally Poe Circle met with Mrs. Elenora Gaskill. Midgett. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Midgett re turned Monday after visiting in Norfolk with Mrs. Ethel R. O’Neal. Mrs. Leone Midgett and son George of Baltimore are visiting her daughter, Mrs. Mary Gaskins. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Toler and daughter, Patricia spent Easter week end here with Mrs. Toler’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Payne. A well-attended Easter pro gram was given Sunday morning at 11 o’clock at Fair Haven Methodist Church for Rodanthe and Waves. The Home Club meeting was held here Monday at 2:30 p.m. in the Community building. The Home Agent gave an interesting talk on paper hanging. Refresh ments were served by the hostess es, Mrs. Bethany Gray and Mrs. Doreas Midgett.
