TO BE HELD ON FEBRUARY 6,
1956, AT 11:00 O’CLOCK A.M.
The State Board of Health of
North Carolina having received a
petition signed by more than
twenty-five (25%) per cent of the
resident freenolders within a pro
posed extension to the Dare
Beaches Sanitary District located
in Dare County, North Carolina,
described in the petition, said peti
tion having been duly transmitted
to the State Board of Health of
North Carolina by the County
Board of Commissioners, Dare
County, North Carolina, after hav
ing been approved by said Board
as provided by Chapter 130, Article
6, of the “General Statutes of
North Carolina,” as amended, upon
consideration thereof it is ordered
by the State Health Officer and
Secretary of the State Board of
Health of North Carolina that a
public hearing concerning the pro
posed extension of the Dare
Beaches Sanitary District be held
by the State Board of Health of
North Carolina through its repre
sentative designated for said pur
pose on Monday, the 6th day of
February, 1966, at 11:00 o’clock

Hines on Bay Street in Avalon
Beach, Dare County, North Caro
lina, said place being located with
in the boundaries of the proposed
extension to the Dare Beaches San
itary District, and that notice of
the time and place of such hearing
be given by publishing a copy of
this order in the “Coastland
Times”, a newspaper published in
the Town of Manteo, Dare County,
North Carolina, and having a gen
eral circulation within the bound
aries of said proposed extension for
five (5) issues beginning January

proposed extension shall be that
part of Dare County, North Caro
lina, the boundaries of which are

Atlantic Township, Dare County,
North Carolina, lying and being
approximately half way between
the Wright Memorial Monument
at Kill Devil Hills and the North
Carolina State Highway leading
across the Dare Beaches from U.
S. Highway No. 158 to and
through the village of Kitty
Hawk at the point of intersection
of said highway with U. S. High
way No. 158 near the Kitty
Hawk Coast Guard Station, said
area being generally known as
the “Avalon Beach Area”, and
bounded on the North by the
subdivision known as “Virginia
Dare Shores”, on the East by the
West boundary of the Dare
Beaches Sanitary District, which
at this point is 700 feet West of
,and parallel with U. S. Highway
No. 158 leading along the Dare
Beaches, on the South by the
North margin of Fifth Street
and an extension thereof to Kitty
Hawk Bay in the subdivision
known as “Croatan Shores”, on
the West by Kitty Hawk Bay,
